    1. Thanks for your input. I had thought of it being a Minesweeper's badge but dismissed it because the plume-like part in the middle wasn't centered but seems to be to the right. You still could be right of course. Wasn't the Seekampfabzeichen awarded to Luftwaffe personnel? The eagle on his tunic is also hard to make out, can't tell whether it is LW or KM. Cheers, Larry
    2. Hi, I have this photo which looks like the Seekampfabzeichen is being worn. I would like opinions. Unfortunately the photo is not that sharp so some details are lost. Cheers, Larry I have played around a bit with the photo. Still not sure. Cheers, Larry
    3. Army, Army, Political Leader, Army, SA, Political Leader. The three Army officers are L- R: Oberst Gustav Schmidt, later a Generalleutnant and cmdr. 19 Panzer Division, General der Infanterie Wolfgang Muff cmdr. WKR XI Hanover and General der Panzertruppen Otto von Knobelsdorff cmdr. 19 Panzer Division. Cheers, Larry

    6. Rare photo of late war (instituted 15 January 1944) Radar Operator specialty badge worn on the sleeve of a crew member who served on U-716.
    7. Very nice portraits Odulf. It is interesting to see the different services that family members enlisted in. Here is another family portrait. The father is a high-ranking Forestry official. His very young-looking son is a Panzer man. Cheers, Larry
    8. Very nice photos Odulf! Crisp and clear showing lots of details. Here is a father and son portrait. Father Reichskriegerbund, son Heer. Cheers, Larry

    13. Nice photo. Looking at his tie and pants I would suggest the guy at right is wearing a tropical uniform worn by those serving in Afrika Korps and Italy etc. Cheers, Larry
    14. Great idea for a thread. I have a few to add, some may have already been posted in different threads but are relevant here. I will try to ID the different branches or organisations in this photo. L - R: Army, Hitler Youth, Political Leader, SS or looking at sleeve band could be SD, Political Leader, Army, Diplomatic Corps, Kreis Leader, SA or NSKK. Cheers, Larry Family portrait with Mothers Cross in wear. Back row: Org. Todt and Hitler Youth. Cheers, Larry Panzer, Kriegsmarine, Luftwaffe. Cheers, Larry Two brothers, one Army the other German Red Cross.
    15. Wonderful photos indeed! Thanks for keeping this thread going. I have a nice Luftschutzpolizei photo arriving soon. Luftschutzpolizei replaced the SHD in 1942. Here is a bad scan. Will post better one when the photo arrives. Cheers, Larry
    16. Very nice photo with great details. Dust-covered Kradmelder wearing bayonet. Cheers, Larry
    17. Thanks for the information. I believe the "n" stands for Niedersachsen. Other organisations such as Deutsche Reichsbahn also wore the same Deutsche Wehrmacht armband while on active duty in enemy territory. Cheers, Larry
    18. Very nice photos on a subject not talked about much. I thought I would contribute this RAD wedding portrait. Cheers, Larry
    19. Nice photos showing insignia for summer uniform. Here is a photo of what looks to be three brothers, one is Panzer, one is Luftwaffe and the middle is a KM Obergefreiter with a Maschinist patch just visible. Cheers, Larry
    20. He does look a little young to be wearing the Hindenburg cross. Could he be wearing his father's HC ribbon? Good information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Honour_Cross_of_the_World_War_1914/1918 There was a next-of-kin ribbon but the colours are in a different order. Cheers, Larry
