    1. I want you to show this medal bar I obtained recently. Unfortunately it's not that easy do get UK medal bars in Germany. The bar consist of the 1939-1945 Star, Africa Star, Defence Medal and War Medal
    2. A picture of him and his medal bar. I also own his ribbon bar and his hat emblem.
    3. His Service & Release Book. Could somebody decipher what is written in the line "Air Crew Category and/or RAF trade:"
    4. Arthur James Linkins was born on 09. October 1920. He volunteered for service in Sept. 1940, was called up on 10.12.1940 and served until 25.07.1946. He was promoted to Leading Aircraftman and got the Defence Medal and British War Medal.
    5. @ Glenn J Many thanks to you!!!! @ Laurence Strong d.L. means "der Landwehr" This was a category of the reserve: Men over the age of 35 and under 45 and with military service.
    6. Thanks! I´m not sure if he is listed in the 1938 list, because he only made Zahlmeister der Reserve in late 1938. It would be great if you could then look him up in the 43-45 lists. I could provide you with some of his units during WWII, if this would help!?
    7. The bavarian Landwehr Dienstauszeichnung is really a very nice piece! First time I see this medal!!
    8. Very nice picture, especially with his full gear and Reichsrevolver 83! The badge seems to be the Erinnerungszeichen der preußischen Staatseisenbahn für 25 Jahre(Railway Faithful Service Decoration for 25 years), please have a look here: http://www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de/deutsche-staaten/erinnerungszeichen-der-preusischen-staatseisenbahn-25-jahre.html I wonder why he doesn´t wear a Landwehr-Dienstauszeichnung or other long service award?!?!?
    9. Some new Ehrenkreuz documents have arrived!! This one was awared on the 09 october 1934 and is now my earliest example.
    10. My last one, an Ehrenkreuz für Kriegsteilnehmer I´ve seen many great bars here and I hope to have contributed a little!
    11. Fußgendarmeriewachtmeister Friedrich Wilhelm Neubert was rewarded for his police service. See here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56660-huge-document-lot-of-a-police-officer-from-boxer-rebellion-to-wwii/?hl=neubert Estate manager Friedrich Zeitz also got one. Now I´m out of these documents, hope you like them!
    12. Zahlmeister-Stellvertreter (deputy paymaster) Fritz Ernst Lietz served at the Jüterborg training ground. Unteroffizier Max Pfeiffer served with an airship unit during the war.
    13. My bar with a bavarian 1866 Feldzugs-Denkzeichen and the 1870/1871 Kriegsdenkmünze. Must´ve been a strange feeling for this soldier in 1870/71 in France to be in the firing line with the men he tried to shoot a few years before ..... History is sometimes great!
    14. This one belonged to one my great-grandfathers, he was also awarded a Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz in WWI. He later got a Treudienstehrenzeichen in Silber.
