    1. Strange, but somehow insanely attractive....
    2. I love the long slim core details and feeling of weight and quality with CD's.
    3. If, as the last picture tends to suggest, there is a dark patina in the bottom of the engraving cuts that would figure. The cuts appear to be angled and quite sharp so would patinate differently to the stamp. The 800 stamp is much broader and the fact that it is stamped gives it a profile that would tarnish differently to a hand engraved cut as seen in the dedication. It is also feasable that someone has cleaned out the engraving at some point in the last x amount of years. I'm still fine with it. I don't see any problems with the style of script either.
    4. Yes I think that quote sums it all up nicely, thanks Bob.
    5. I know The photo's not brilliant but the script reads "SMITH ROY L" and "DONG HA".
    6. Hello Gents, I know I'm a bit of a stranger in these parts but wonder if anyone can help. I've got a vietnam era Zippo lighter and would be interested to know what the inignia relates to. Thanks, Glenn.
    7. I love the trapezoidal swastika on S&L's and the overall feeling of quality about them. They also made a superb EK2 with the same feeling of quality. I've never been able to really grasp the Juncker fixation when comparisons can be made to other manufacturers. Kleina nd Quenzer being another particular favourite of mine. I also have a good example of the "Russian horde". It is quite difficult to explain how different these crosses feel in terms of being unaged. Quite stunning really.
    8. That's a very nice example. I've seen odd ones of these before. Any ideas on maker? CD maybe?
    9. Lovely. Typical W&S hinge plate. Really nice example that!
    10. Beautiful engravings. Just the icing on the cake for an EK in my opinion.
    11. I don't have a picture of the reverse of the above cross but this one is supposedly an L/12 which I was offered for sale but never handled. Different pin etc but similar hinge to yours Bill. I can't vouch for the originality of this one though.
    12. Here's a Junkers of mine, frame details look similar particularly the cross hatching.
    13. I've never seen this hinge on an S&L before, very interesting. Not knowing anything much about KVK's this would have stumped me a bit. In every other respect identical to Steinhauers I've owned. Trapezoidal edges to the swastika, date and frame characteristics and the insanely ugly catch. Nice cross and an interesting variant.
    14. That's really effective Rich, looks very good. Btw welcome aboard.
    15. Typical S&W hinge. No idea on the inscription though.
    16. Beautiful, welcome to the forum. Those imperial pieces are superb and that blade inscription is remarkable.
    17. Nice pair. K&Q's have to be my absolute favourite 1939's. So distinctive and well made.
    18. Very nice. Godets are beautiful crosses. Terry, is the displayed cross maker marked?
    19. That's the first time I've seen an L/15 marked EK2. Lovely bold stamp.
    20. Nice crosses Dave, particularly like the Gustav Brehmer.
    21. Rick does this one have a shaped pin or a needle type? I've had both but I've only seen the higher silver content crosses with a fluted type pin. In my experience so far they are either unmarked for silver or 800 marked. These have the thin needle pin. I've seen two with the silver content your piece shows and they both had the fluted type pin. Just wondered if this was the rule or just random. Cheers, Glenn.
    22. A lovely 65. Nice frosty blacking still clearly evident.
