    1. Guys, Not really anywhere for this but as the state controlled everything I thought here? The damnation of Faust! jock
    2. Tony, Flee market, 20 card €10. The big book 'Unter deutsche Flagge' was a bin rescue with some WW2 RAD pics, they are dry now so I will post them up when I get my new scanner, hopefuly tomorrow. Jock
    3. Guys, A few more possible Landwehr (different bloke) lads in training wearing the darker uniform? Jock
    4. Boris, I have no system either! Guys, Some general interest cards from today with a box that was with them! Don't like the boat much looks a bit 'rickity'! Regards Jock
    5. Guys, These were in the job lot today, I thought initially WW1 but one is dated 1940, I am not even sure they all belong together but they were in the same pile? Jock
    6. Guys, Went out late today but there was still a few bits n pieces. These 5 postcards from MG soldiers. The reverse of one is unit post marked 1 M.G.K.Landwe?? R??85. Post mark could be ?9 LandW. Div. these are from Dec 1916! Jock
    7. more pics, it looks like it was aimed more at the rank and file as an educational monthly booklet?!
    8. A stated, these are a cross section of a few of them there seems to be a bit of history, a bit of propaganda, a bit of politics and some general service news etc. Please see pics! Jock
    9. Gordon, I will have a go tonight then. My scanner has packed up so it will be photos. Till later Jock
    10. Guys, Not really my bag but couldn't see them lost! From early 60s some interesting pictures in them. Will post more detail if any interest. Jock
    11. Guys, Got this the other day, it is ok but the rest of the stuff was a bit damp and I am waiting on it drying out. This book seems to be a talented artist that documented his travels with sketches, seems well known in Germany as I have found other books by him? Predates the first war I presume? There are many more pictures, too many to post. Jock
    12. Colin, You are very tallented, must take some time to make these. Cheers Jock
    13. Alec, Quite unusual! I would have thought that this run would have been quite short! I scrubbed that 'chicken thing' I got with a bit of soap and water and it came up a treat! They do pick up the grubby finger prints don't they, not being glazed? Best Regards Jock
    14. Thanks for the direction guys. It is not an area I know much about but you do so a few general questions, were the crewmen of these ships KM sailors or were they merchant marine men perhaps from the ships civilian crew or a mix? Its just that there are a couple of older gentlemen in the pic or is this common in this kind of crew? Thanks in adavance! Jock
    15. Bernhard, Thanks for that. Cheers Jock
    16. Bernhard, So you would say the EK are 39s not 14s, any reason why? I assumed WW1 as I can't see anything to indicate anything else or is it the uniforms themselves? Cheers Jock
    17. Gregg, Thanks for that, it is noticable now you have demonstarted it for me. I shall scurry away to my cellar tomorrow and see how many are slanting! Thanks Again. Jock
    18. Boris, I have no idea, it is just a few postcards for me, I don't really collect WW1 stuff unless I like the picture or markings etc. I doubt it is Hitler as they all tended to look a lot alike back then, at least to me anyway! Regards Jock
    19. Greg, I may look thick here but what is a 'slant W' and what other sorts of 'W' is there? I have just looked at the last couple I posted on here and the Ws all look the same to me? Thanks Jock
    20. From yesterday, I think this one qualifies as it looks to be a civilian/merchant uniform on the crew in uniform?
    21. Guys, There was nothing much out there for me yesterday (as a TR w***ker), so I thought I would take this as it is of local interest. The photos do not show how vivid the colours still are except the one with the flash. I know you Imperial people will appreciate it. "The thunder of guns is our greeting"! Jock
    22. Steve, Given it is a wartime medal are you entirely happy with the finish? Do you consider it possible that the silver and black finish have been 'tarted up' post war? Not to decive in any way as there would have been tons of these available, just from a retail point of view you would want both products to be shiny? Just a though as it looks a bit artificial in finish, might just be me or the picture. Perhaps next to a period one not post war mounted it will be identical in which case I am wrong in my thoughts. I am not trying to detract from the group I love it as is, I have sold/swapped a lot of 57 stuff I now wish I had kept as it is all part of the continuing history, oh well, hindsight is always the best. Regards Jock
    23. I like the shooting award. It appears to be hand made and signed at the bottom right by an NCO? Could this be the case? If so you won't find two the same! Jock
