    1. Well I guess things were very confusing at the end as it all started to melt down, I suppose you family were lucky to be notified quickly by whoever it was that delivered the bad news. Jock
    2. This is some more I got today from a bloke that already sold me some stuff, this is his dad, I don't understand why he sold it but I'm happy to take it off his hand. I like the staged pics with the two lads on the scissor binoes, I like his dads walking stick! There are the small group as well that appears to show him getting dressed for a patrol. I posted in the KM tallies section the Celle Marine HJ, this is also the same guy. A couple of his travel warrants as well. Jock:)
    3. I know it is not KM but has a nautical interest and is quite unusual? Particularly when you bear in mind Celle is quite distant from the sea, I believe they exercised on the Aller. Jock:)
    4. Coincidentally these were in a WP I got today, there appears to have been some sort of Allied desk that dealt with the closure aspect? I can't make out the end of the title. Letter is dated 10/6/46 and appears to confirm his burial site. With it is the war time family condolence card so they were well aware he was dead and it is obviously in the WP too. Jock:)
    5. Glenn, If there are any left do you want me to get one? Postage is peanuts as it UK mail through BFPO. Jock:)
    6. Very unusual, I have seen plenty of post war type letters etc, really poignant since it is family! Helps to close the loop! Also as Chris states so close but yet so far! I have noted at our local war graves cemetery at Becklingen in Germany many allied soldiers that perhaps served with 7 Div through Africa, Italy, D-day fought their way to the dying days and still lucked out at the end, what a waste! Jock:)
    7. Guys, Not sure which forum in which this sits? Jock:)
    8. Glen, It was Netto Germany, but I can have a look for you too, I am not sure of the normal retail price, maybe these things are much cheaper now? It was there so I bought it but you may find something similar online for less? I will have a look tomorrow if any are left as €20 is not bad? Just to be clear you will not fit a whole award in but for ring stamps and detail on photos I have found it useful. Jock:)
    9. Chris, You are down South, check out your NETTOs down there, it was a promotion item I think for kids going back to school in summer, can pick you one up if there are any left as they are now reduced to €20. Jock:)
    10. Guys, Was going through the junk and found these again. Thought the different types of material and colours were interesting. The one with the green net sticking out, turned out to have a mosey-net in it, it looks like the soldier was a smoker as there is a eyelet that I think he has added? Jock:)
    11. Glenn, It was cheap in Netto at €40, typically now reduced to €20. Saves all that squinting and magnifying glasses. I'm getting the hang of it now. Jock:)
    12. Guys, As stated above. I'm liking this USB microscope! Jock:)
    13. Guys, As stated, given to me last week. Its a bit tired on the front. Last picture is from a USB microscope, pretty good I think? Jock:)
    14. Love the colours, half way angry sky!
    15. The devil is always in the detail but the braid on the HV looks like an SS type of thing or is this normal, I don't know? My pals dad was HV, he still has his uniform, I will ask to photograph it for this thread (don't hold your breath as he lives in Hannover and has a second home near me) I recall it has the matching hats with it! Jock:)
    16. Mate, As observed your pictures are of a bent one. From what I have read on 'the fora' there is a very linear outlook on what is correct so it is really easy for the people in the know to pick out the real deal. Always be suspicious! Happy hunting! Jock:)
