    1. You might find if you turn it inside out it is marked identicaly, a Geman pal told me they were mostly used for grain and such like so when you tipped it out you could turn it inside out and it was properly empty and at the same time ready to use again? I don't know if that is accurate or not but it would fit, that or that there was always a property mark visable so you couldn't nick any? I have a couple like that, bit whiter material usually but on the whole the same thing.
    2. Guys, I need to stop this but a nice bit of brass seems to have me every time. As ever no markings, failure of weld at the front, and some cellotape has been added but it should come off with a bit of petrol to disolve it.
    3. Odulf, I like the second picture, bloke looks like he is struggling with a mobile phone, LOL!
    4. Guys, Not a lot out there today but this was different I thought, shame it has been folded or creased at some point but still quite vibrant and it has an enbossed seal from the München Race course. It is A3ish so scan for detail and picture for scale.
    5. Thanks for the info, envelope states Fursten???brück 1961, it is only pened on so could be wrong.
    6. Kamilos, I will point out badges are not my main effort but I could not find a badge of that type with that catch and given your location I suspect you will be subjected to an endless bombardment of copies. I also stated to you privately due to your location I will not comment on your ground dug stuff! The further East you go it seems the more often folk will dig a grave to steal from the dead, I will not be a part of that unlike WRF/WAF. Never seen an MH or heard of it but look at it yourself, it is only an inf assualt badge, it has the look it is complicated in it's construction with the crimped needle, ball hinge and crimped catch, it looks worn in the areas one would expect, got to be worth a punt if the price is not outrageous? it would be really hard work to replicate this production tequnique and to what ends as it would no doubt be quickly rummbled? I think we would also be seeing a lot of them already if it were fake? Give it a spin!
    7. Eric, Post 1 second to last image.
    8. Iain, Just to be safe, the link you have shown is to Becklingen not Berlingen Cemetery which I drive past 3 or 4 times a week. If you are coming from Hamburg leave the A7 at Soltau Süd. Then turn right for Celle, it is about 5km down the road on the right you can't miss it. Bernhard, On the other thread about the British aircrewman the picture of a bomber crew grave is taken at Becklingen, wouldn't that be a coincidence if it were the same crew. I can't do links sadly.
    9. Uwe, Thanks for the info, didn't see your post and I think there have been some technical issues from updating? I thought only Mods and higher could delete stuff?
    10. Bernhard, Hidden in plain sight! I swear I am going blind at times. It was a Hannover find so it was local lads. Have they miss-spelt 'Heide' on the chalk board?
    11. Guys, These are from the weekend, I liked the pleasing pictures on the cover but I like the adverts more and the articles aren't too bad either. The train article caught my eye as that bizzar contraption was tested localy between Celle and Hannover and achieved 150KM P/H according to the title page.
    12. Larry, What an excellent link, thanks!
    13. Guys, Nothing fancy, from the week end a €10 photo album. The pickle shot has a Gibraltar cuff just visible right sleeve.
    14. Guys, Any thoughts on this one, I have found the Arty Regt but not the prefix on Lexicon and nothing for a general seach google wise? Cheers
    15. Mate, I know how you feel, I have circled a few bits that stand out as wrong for me. If there are a lot of people giving you good vibes about the badge then drill down on their profile to get a feel for what they know before you lend too much weight to what is said. Also if they are so keen on the badge sell them it and see what they say!
    16. I think in this context it would not be meaningless as I am sure the breast eagle is factory applied and original but if lets say all the other insignia lights up like a disco then it may be safe to assume it is post war applied in this case? It is not infalable but it is a useful tool if you suspect the stiching is dodgy, which we both do? I have one similar deressed as an engineer.
    17. sorry to be clear, I think it is a copy, of something, not sure what but it has the characteristics if some of the stuff that comes from Poland.
    18. Scott, I thought I was bad with a touch of dislexia but these are actualy back to front in places, the detail is very poor, bent as a 'nine bob note' is my thought?
    19. Moszi, Thank you for the detail, which book lists these numbers and units? Cheers
    20. Guys, I said I would keep my eyes open for this sort of thing and spotted this today. The set of cards is for a five day cruise on above ship as part of the DAF, KDF program. It is just a card that had the menu and events of the day for the guests. I have put them in order. The green card lists price of fags and booze on board. The theatre program is unrelated but posted it together since it is KDF. I have two sets of the itinery cards so if anyone wants to swap let me know!
    21. Uwe, Now you have made me look closer I see they are FN rifles! At a casual glance I thought G3 at first. Perhaps these soldiers are not even German, some sort of competition perhaps.
    22. That is the first Kurland entry I have seen, it is a very busy book.
    23. Guys, More stuff rescued from the skip. Were in an envelope dated 1961, when did the Germans get the G3?
    24. Both styles look very practicle, thanks for the ideas!
