Boris, I have no system either! Guys, Some general interest cards from today with a box that was with them! Don't like the boat much looks a bit 'rickity'! Regards Jock

Guys, These were in the job lot today, I thought initially WW1 but one is dated 1940, I am not even sure they all belong together but they were in the same pile? Jock

Guys, Got this the other day, it is ok but the rest of the stuff was a bit damp and I am waiting on it drying out. This book seems to be a talented artist that documented his travels with sketches, seems well known in Germany as I have found other books by him? Predates the first war I presume? There are many more pictures, too many to post. Jock

Thanks for the direction guys. It is not an area I know much about but you do so a few general questions, were the crewmen of these ships KM sailors or were they merchant marine men perhaps from the ships civilian crew or a mix? Its just that there are a couple of older gentlemen in the pic or is this common in this kind of crew? Thanks in adavance! Jock -

Bernhard, So you would say the EK are 39s not 14s, any reason why? I assumed WW1 as I can't see anything to indicate anything else or is it the uniforms themselves? Cheers Jock -
EK 1914 EKI, an EKI mini & a 935 stamped EKII
Jock Auld replied to Tony's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Gregg, Thanks for that, it is noticable now you have demonstarted it for me. I shall scurry away to my cellar tomorrow and see how many are slanting! Thanks Again. Jock -
Boris, I have no idea, it is just a few postcards for me, I don't really collect WW1 stuff unless I like the picture or markings etc. I doubt it is Hitler as they all tended to look a lot alike back then, at least to me anyway! Regards Jock

Greg, I may look thick here but what is a 'slant W' and what other sorts of 'W' is there? I have just looked at the last couple I posted on here and the Ws all look the same to me? Thanks Jock -

From yesterday, I think this one qualifies as it looks to be a civilian/merchant uniform on the crew in uniform? -
Guys, There was nothing much out there for me yesterday (as a TR w***ker), so I thought I would take this as it is of local interest. The photos do not show how vivid the colours still are except the one with the flash. I know you Imperial people will appreciate it. "The thunder of guns is our greeting"! Jock

Imperial EK, wartime or post war produced ?
Jock Auld replied to SteveL's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Steve, Given it is a wartime medal are you entirely happy with the finish? Do you consider it possible that the silver and black finish have been 'tarted up' post war? Not to decive in any way as there would have been tons of these available, just from a retail point of view you would want both products to be shiny? Just a though as it looks a bit artificial in finish, might just be me or the picture. Perhaps next to a period one not post war mounted it will be identical in which case I am wrong in my thoughts. I am not trying to detract from the group I love it as is, I have sold/swapped a lot of 57 stuff I now wish I had kept as it is all part of the continuing history, oh well, hindsight is always the best. Regards Jock
