    1. Bernhard, Yes seen the 'umpire' in the tank shot. I am surprised the flamethrower was not banned at least for the Germans, you learn something new every day! Thanks Jock:)
    2. been digging again!
    3. Guys, Not sure where to post these but this group I got seems to show training for trench warfare and quite late given the canvas tank or could it be Reichswehr? I think one or two blokes have flame throwers which I am sure the allies would not have allowed after the war. Sadly no dates or marking except the odd picture number. Jock:)
    4. more patriotic cards
    5. Tragic, I meant in the fact for both of them, I hope the guy that pulled the trigger is able to get some sort of assistance if he needs it in due course, although it may be a black and white case and no blame lies with the policeman, one would assume, as he reads more about the incident and others views it may play on his mind, it may not but most decent people will always DS something like this over and over with the thought of could I have done something differently or better etc. Regardless of the guys issues I always hate to see anything bad befall any ex-serviceman/woman even if it is just their own poor admin, I don't think many of them on the streets actually are claiming it is down to PTSD or surely the Legion and such like would have swept them up or been in contact? I wouldn't expect the Government or MOD to do much since they would rather not admit there is a problem in this area although a few Generals have forecast an significant increase for the future with mental health issues. The Government are more concerned with how to keep 'both homes' and a staff full of family members going with only their meagre wage and expenses allowance. Jock:)
    6. Could this move to the BRD/Post war forum please? Someone there might like it. Cheers. Jock:)
    7. Chris, I just split my sides when I seen that unfortunate 'Breach Creature'. That has made my night! Thanks
    8. The pin looks lucky to still be attached.
    9. That explains why I couldn't find it. Not looking far enough forward. It lost 7 minutes last night, I will try adjusting it. Thanks Jock:)
    10. What a remarkable soldier, it is a bit of a worry that his paperwork was 'lost' for so long? I guess the recent publication of the camera footage suddenly prompted its re-appearance. I hate these political weasels that hate to have the truth voiced and if the brave captain is to be judged by his actions, I doubt that he would shrink from them in telling them how it was. At least it has been sorted, Jock:)
    11. Guys, A really old SB not fancy but I am surprised these things survive in German households to one day be discarded, crazy!
    12. Guys, Some random pics from todays markets. I like flag pole tops and gorgets. Jock:)
    13. Has anyone an original pin system to post here as a comparison, may be useful for others in the future? I guess this thin pin style you all mention was prone to failure and a bad design, how un-Germanic. I don't know who made the first cross (pic 1+2) or the other in the trio, just random crosses, I shall dig out more! Cheers. Jock:)
    14. Jean-Paul, I clicked the link, it may be my incompetence but it didn't give an account of why he is awarded the honour? It also seams quite a time delay if the action was in 2009, is this normal for such a high award? Look forward to reading his citation! Jock:)
    15. Guys, Picked up a clock today inscribed as above, can't find anything on Lexicon so must be pre WW2? It only cost a fiver because it didn't work, it was just overwound, just got it going, released the spring a bit and good old WD40! Any ideas about unit, I thought Fernmelder? Cheers! Jock:)
    16. last for tonight, Pioneer and scaly? I did not realize that their bleeps were Engineers in the first war. There is what is left of his SB as well as his BRD ausweiss. Jock:)
    17. Guys, A local boy, IR92. Just found his Release certificate at the back from a medical unit, never a good sign? Jock:)
    18. Guys, Pretty slim pickings today, just a box of buttons various still they were free with some furniture the wife bought. To be fair too went out late and the weather was not good. I have added them to the last lot and there is a plastic tub full of the smaller fibre/metal, shirt/trouser buttons. The marine buttons are the small Reichsmarine type. Big pile of 4 hole dish type, I have the same on my Zumpftarn trousers. If anyone needs the odd one here and there to replace missing let me know and you can have it. Jock:)
