Now a rare photo of Liman von Sanders. Wild Card. Pfor the photos on post 124, the photo of Mulzer may be taken before he received the MJ3. Don't forget he received it in September, the 6th 1916. This is not THE explanation but only one.For me, the Bavarians were very proud to wear their high order like Max Joseph so if he received it, I think, he probably wore it. Regards Christophe

Hi Dave, It's a very good book but the b?mol is it doesn't cover the Bavarian doctors. I say that because for the Sashaw's ribbon bar I can't find information with this book. I see in a German auctionshouse, the book covered the Bavarian doctors exist. The price is very high for the beginning. Do you have the Bavarian Armee Verordnungsblatt 1914-1918 ? Regards Christophe

Hi everybody, Recently I have found in my archive this photo of Karl Thom wearing his medal bar and in SS uniform Thom's medal bar Member cross of Hohenzollern with X, 7 august 1918 Golden military merit cross, 11 octobre 1917 Iron cross 2nd class, november 1914. Pour le M?rite, 6 novembre 1918. He received the iron cross 1st class, the Prussian pilot badge and the Goblet of Honor. Just for my information, can someone help me to complete the date of receipt of Thomm's awards. Thanks per advance Regards Christophe

The other ribbon bar Iron cross 2nd class Mecklemburg Schwerin second clas Military Merit medal Hanseatic cross of Hamburg Red Eagle 4th class Centenary medal For me this bar may belonged to a Captain (with the Red Eagle and Centenary medal). If there is no long service medal the explanation is this officer died during the war. Regards Christophe

Hi In a local show I found two new ribbon bars. Both for officer. Not a great ribbon bar but very nice for me. First one : Iron cross 2nd class Knight cross of Hohenzollern with X Cross of Honour with X Long service cross, or reserve service cross Austrian commemorative medal for WW1 with X Hungarian commemorative medal for WW1 without X (??? why) Bulgarian commemorative medal for WW1 without X (??? why) For me this bar may belonged to a reserve officer during WW1, there is no Centenary medal. I think it's untracable. Christophe

Hi, In the Milit?r Handbuch 1913, we can find only one doctor officer who received the BavrianMilitary Merit Order and the Prussian Crown Order. Generaloberarzt Maximilian Rapp. He received BMVO4a, PKO3, J. He survived the war. It is probably him. In the Roth's Bavarian book, Rapp received the BMVO3aX. So your ribbon missend the X on the first ribbon. Rick may have all the complementary informations. Regards Christophe
