    2. Hi everybody, Last year I have bought this nice ribbon bar to another collector. I have not positive id of him till recently. Indeed, I have found that only one man that have this combo (SH3, SV3aX, SA3aXKr, EK2, SMK). The officer : Major Otto Schmidt from IR 134. He was born in 1874, for the moment I have not found his death date. Leutnant : 23.01.1896 Oberleutnant : 11.09.1903 Hauptmann : 21.01.1910 Major : 22.05.1916 He received the follwing medals : SH3 : 13.11.1915 SV3aX : 09.11.1916 Kr zu SA3aX : 19.10.1915 SA3aX : 22.11.1914 EK2 : ? EK1 : ? SMK : 08.05.1916. Here is the ribbon bar and the photo of Major Otto Schmidt (he is the first officer from the right). It take one year to have positive id of the ribbon bar and to find the photo of our man Christophe
    3. Hi, I have a photo of Major Emil Schmidt so this is probably not the owner of the ribbon bar about his age (he is born in 1872). It will be hard to find the name of the owner of the bar. Christophe
    4. A friend gives me more info (thanks to Sascha). Oberst Hermann Frhr von Eberstein was at the head of the FR Nr. 40 till his death in Mars la Tour in 1870. He received the RAO4X in 1848-1849 RAO3SXR on 1861 HHO3X on 1866. Christophe
    5. Hi, Here is my new Saxon officer ribbon bar. The combo is very interesting. When I saw it before buying it I thought it will be easy to id this bar. Hélas non ! Indeed, after reading the Reichswehr Ranglisten, I have found exactly one officers who wore the same Imperial combo : SH3, SV3aX, SA3aXKr, EK2, HHO3X I have found two others officers who wore one medal more, the SDA. Oberst Schubert Oberstleutnant Körner Our man was still alive after 1934, he received the Hindenburg cross and he wore the two Whermacht long services. He probably decided not to wear the Saxon long service ribbon but only the two Whermacht ribbons. I have a doubt. Indeed our man has received the Albert Order without cross before the war and it is probably the clue. So I decide to look after all the officers who received the HHO3X during the war. The list contains 182 names. After some research I have a short list of 10 names and only two wore the SA3a before the war. Oberstleutnant Wilhelm Frhr von Hammerstein-Loxten Major Emil Schmidt. I have nothing after 1932. I don’t know if they were reactived after 1935 So if someone has got information about those two officers, thanks for your help. Christophe

    12. Hi Tom, Very nice medal bar. By chance is there any hallmark on the EH3b please ? This Fraskspange was for a reserve officer (like you said) but why medical officer ? There is no red cross medal with it. Have you got a name ? Christophe
    13. Hi, You are right about one point this cross was awarded only 141 times during WW1. I think I know from who you are talking as dealer. To be honest with you, I don't understand why he breaks the group. For me a dealer with his reputation can't do this, there is no excuse. Like some medals has been sold, not the group is broken for ever. Christophe
    14. Recently the medal bar of Kühn has been sold. Here is the photo from database, the bar doesn't belong to me, too bad. If the owner of this medal bar is here, please let me know and don't hesitate to show close upf of medals. Christophe
