    1. Bob, was there really a certain parade medal bar type of ribbon style that the Wuerttemburger favoured? I am completing a bar of mine with this bar, i have a trio for it that came with ribbon bar and were all from the same man, but they were on ribbons and i wanted to keep them together on a parade mount bar and this turned up ( see pic) but i was wondering if they favoured another type of mount??? or is this one perfectly allowable??? Thanks for your help! Cheers Paul
    2. Wicked stuff! i never imagined bars like these lurking out there! Thanks Claudio!!
    3. Wow! thanks Rick! Its really nice to get some information, no matter how little, on a document and be able to research it and perhaps find more... I have another i will post here maybe this name may be traceable....?
    4. Hello Gents, Just thought i would share a pic of my latests finds. First up is a nice black wound badge Secondly a Award Document to an Engineer for the Non-combattants Hindenburg cross. Cheers Paul

    6. Yes isn't he amazing...Mr Research! the depth of his knowledge on this topic is nothing short of freaky...lol! seriously tho, thanks Rick, for sharing and delving in the archives...makes this hobby so much more interesting and understandable. Keep up the good work! I wish i had a bar or two that was traceable...( i only have a 5 placer to a decorated gefreiter.and some other smaller combos) Hmmm.. maybe one day i will pick up a pearler somewhere! and the best part will be in the revealing of the history behind it... Cheers Gents, Paul
    7. Gentlemen, I am in awe! to have had correspondence with these fine gentlemen must have been a highlight! I agree, the Luftwaffe pilots were perhaps the most Chivalrous of the RK winners and the perhaps the most modest. Keep them coming gents.... Has any of you had the honour of holding these gents medals in your grubby paws? I once ( as a young boy) held the only ever, combattant double Victoria cross winner Captain Charles Hazlitt Uphams VC and bar and the rest of his medals on a medal bar...im my grubby little hands!! ( these medals are now in the Waiouru museum in the north island of New Zealand.)That was one of the most proudest moments of my life! Regards Paul
    8. Nice stuff mate! Me personally, i feel that when you have an unknown soldier's photo, its fitting to accompany the photo with awards just like he is wearing in the photo. Sort of like a silent tribute to the gentleman concerned for his efforts. Would love to see the pics when you get all the accessories! Regards Paul
    9. Well...since there are a couple of fivers up there already...might as well join the bandwagon...
    10. How about this Beauty!... It has lost some clarity due to having been resized to fit under the posting limit...otherwise the pic shows incredible detail of a surefire minter! OOOPS...it looks bad...sorry guys cannot improve it
    11. Methinks that someone, an employee or craftsman who made these bars in a factory setting all day, made this for a relative or someone close, hence the attention to detail ( apart from the ribbon and medal order...)and the workmanship of the metal parts. I also think that this bar would be easy to rearrange, simply by bending back the tags holding the front to the back, lifting the front away and examining the back piece ( perhaps the craftsman threaded the wee rings and used a nut to attach the ring to the bar) ( this will explain the lack of evidence visible of a welding of some sort) If this is the case, ( the nut) it would be a simple ( but fiddly) job of unscrewing and so on...as for the ribbons well the thread would have been used all along...simply cut the joins between the ribbons and slide the ribbons off and rearrange them to suit. But as Don says ...He likes it the way it is, so be it. Sorry to ramble on a bit...
    12. Words fail me Marshall! this is just beautiful!
    13. Awesome bars Don, George and John! I loved the wee Sudetenland anschluss parade bar...
