In the year 2013 we have any anniversaries. 200 years iron cross is one of this. Less known is the 100 anniversary of the foudation of the first navy unit. All starts with the "Allerhöchste Kabinettsordre" from 3rd May 1913. Where the german emperor order the creation of two units: 1. Marine-Luftschiffabteilung located at Johannesthal / Berlin 2. Marine-Fliegerabteilung located at Puzig near Danzig. I ask you all to post everything related to the german navy aviation from 1913 to 1920. Everything like badges, documents, paper, medal / ribbon bars, uniform and parts of this. Kind regards Alex

When i reviewed Baldes book about the german aviation badges i saw exact this badge presented on page 674. it has the same bright spot on the back. It is declared as an fake. But i remember you wrote Baldes approved it. It seems he changed his oppinion. I still have doubts about this version. Regards Alex

I want to tell some words to Pandis book. To work on a book its a lot of work and i have respect for people who go this way. In addition to the many hours of work , we should not forget the financial aspect. The first book is OK for someone who want an overview about the aviation badges and some basic informations. It is not a reference book for serious collectors. I don't have the second volume but it seems that the quality is better then the first one. Regards Alex

After examination the badge with all Juncker badges from my collection and pictures of other badges i still can not make a final decission. IMHO it is the wrong way to condemn. It neds further examination on the badge. Pictures are not enough. The position of the leafs on both sides of the badge are different to known Juncker badges, what deduce it is not from the same stamp. Other characteristics are identical to Juncker like the construction and the eagle. Juncker is the only known maker who produced stamped, thre part construction badges like this. Regards Alex

This is a interessting badge and i think it is good to take some time with examination before make a decition. It shows definitly Juncker characteristics and it is of good workmanship. The bird is vary close to the Juncker one but have not the deep details on the wings and the body. Minor variations are seen on Juncker air gunnar badges. I still can't say what it is. Sorry Rick but i remember on your words about the Shaper badge you shown here. Being a skeptic is the right way in collecting this badges but you have to be consequent. Regards Alex

All known goblets were awarded for different achievements. I don't think that two goblets exist with the same inscription. Only one of the crew members got the goblet so I don't think we will find two identical. It is unknown how the selection was made for award. But usually the commander was awarded for an achievement. Not so for this award. So possible that the owner of this goblet was not the commander. I have to check but I don't think that the army bombed the city of Manchester with airships. Regards Alex
