I am looking for additional information on the danish service of: Friedrich Wilhelm Carl Ludwig von Hessen-Philippsthal-Barchfeld (1786-1834) 1817 Generalmajor und Chef des Leib-Regiments. Wilhelm Kurprinz von Hessen (1777-1847) 1783 Oberst a la suote, 1788 Generalmajor der Infanterie. Any help greatly appreciated

Now you can see the importance of the original sources in this kind of research. Should one only use the DOA as a source, the X is given. When we digg in the archives, we find something else. Works the other way around as well in my opinion. The data found in the archives should be represented as found. Context is everything

I think the author in question is very well able to make a useless remark like that himself. It would also be very possible to show just one. Or an example of how the entries in the book are set up. There is a difference in showing 'just' a list or putting biographical entries in a book which shows details such as.DOB And Dod. In stead of just codemning a question askes by a fellow member of this forum, you might want to try I dont know....a friendlier approach? Especially since you have nothing to do with the subject at all.

In the photo it is the MWK1, so correctly identified by Roman. Apart from the crown, the letters encircling are distinct from the SEHO1
