    1. Agreed! I would leave the OPW2 as it is. It's certainly a nice piece, Do you have its documents with it or is it all on its lonesome? Gotta love that soviet enamel, though. Sam.
    2. "Hey Mossy! Nice "Commander Keen" avatar!" Where, oh where, would you find a picture of Krusty with a giant red circle with a line through it? Is there a site that caters to the taste of clown-haters? On a more serious note, you see groups with two red banners but the second is another red baner, not a 'second awarding' version. Is there a reason for this, such as the 'second awarding' versions were produced after the soldier had been given his medal? Sam.
    3. Slava, Very nice photo! Was this photo on it's own, or did it come as part of a group? Alfred, is that a different version of the 'Excellence in Socialist Competition, Narkomat of Oil' badge Chuck showed, which is a great looking set by the way! Sam.
    4. Great stuff people! The Red Banner is one of those medals that makes pretty much any collector stop and go 'wow'. The workmanship on some of these pieces is just astounding and some of the deeds attached to them are incredible. All up, one heck of an award. Sam.
    5. Oooohh! Nice! Can't imagine that Bulgarian military merit being too cheap. Does the medal differ alot from the original war-time verison? Sam.
    6. Nice stuff Ed, were the North West Frontier 1936-37 and North West Frontier 1937-39 bars the only two issued for this medal? And is the reverse the same as the 1908 India medal? Sam.
    7. Now that is one BEAUTIFUL medal! Do you own this? I would think there are very, very few units that would be entitled to four bars on the campaign medal. Also, is there any way to tell whether a Turkish Crimean campaign medal was issued to an individual or unit? Any one know the award criteria, or was simply a 'i was there' medal? Sam.
    8. Here's a (likely incomplete) list of clasps for the 1895 India Service Medal. If any are missing, add them on, along with any bits of info or trivia you may have. The more the merrier! Defence of Chitral 1895 Punjab Frontier 1897-98 Relief of Chitral 1895 Samana 1897 Tirah 1897-98 Waziristan 1901-2 Sam.
    9. For anyone interested, i know i am, here's a list of the bars for this medal. Well, most of them. Abor 1911-12 Afghanistan 1919 Burma 1930-32 Mahsud 1921-22 Malabar 1921-22 Mohmand 1933 North West Frontier 1908 North West Frontier 1930-31 North West Frontier 1935 Waziristan 1919-21 Waziristan 1921-24 Waziristan 1925 If there are any others, add 'em on the list, as well as any little notes, ie whether one bar is much rarer to Indian troops than to European and so forth. And who says British medals suffer from a lack of variety. Sam.
    10. Great stuff Ed! Love those multi clasp ones, especially No. 10, in the fight from the beginning. How rare are these 3 and 4 bar medals? This medal is one of my favourites. Love this design. This one is named to: 1375 sepoy pir baksh 5th pjb infy (thanks Ed!). Sam.
    11. This is certainly one of the more underrated medals out there. Bit of a pity really. Quick question for Ed though, what orders collar is George V wearing in the medal (the collar with the elephants) and what does Kaisar-I-Hind mean? Here's mine. Named to a Pte J Murns in the Prince of Wales Volunteers. (Full naming on medal: 16622 PTE J MURNS P W VOLS) Sam.
    12. Wow. Now, that was fast. Not that i'm implying anything of course...hehe. Thank you very much. I'm suprised he would have survived the post war purge. Being a POW who wasn't a party member and had fought at leningrad. Certainly not a bad buy for $5! Sam.
    13. Last page, 48. What i was told when i purchased the booklet was that the man had fought at Leningrad and had then captured by the Germans and then released at the end of the war. Sam.
    14. This is a small booklet i picked up on the weekend for a couple of bucks. There's a bit here, so bear with me. Any one able to help? Cover and inside cover. Sam.
    15. The colours, orange and black, were also used on the St George cross and later the Soviet Order of glory and ww2 victory medal if i remember correctly. Sam.
    16. Agreed! That is one beaut set, and with pieces still out there, well, The story hasn't finished yet! Sam.
    17. Nice badges! What does the scroll above 'Manchester' read? Sam.
    18. And a better shot of the stamps. Rather nice scenes i think. Sam.
    19. This is a Hungarian envelope i bought the other day (always was a fan of ww2 hungarian stuff). Enjoy! Sam.
    20. Great looking, and probably rather rare, badge. Just curious, was this awarded to building enginners, or those who organised them? Sam.
