Sorry, I did not see this until now. Bob is right, the one at ground level is a mock-up so that you can see what it looks like. The one on the boat is not open to the public. Bill
Bob, What did you think of the restored battle damage to the conning tower? I personally liked the job they did there too. Too bad I did not know you where coming to Chicago, It would have been nice to meet up for a Hot dog and a beer! Bill
Rick, I received word from WASt. Rudolf von Gordon was born March 12,1903 in Wilhelmshaven. Maybe this will help dig up more info. Is it possible to request a birth and/or death certificate? Bill
I picked this up over 20 years ago and have not run across another exactly like it. I did see a similar one but the eagle was printed. The seller of the printed one stated it was for a luftwaffe recruiter. These photos are old and look like crap. It is not that grainy hands on. Bill
Thanks Bob, I have tried to stick to the Luftwaffe Engineering Corps as the focus of my collection. It is an obscure branch that I am having trouble finding data about. I am always looking for documents and cloth pertaining to this branch. Thanks Rick, Knowing that he is not part of that branch of family is a lot more than I knew before. I hope something can be found about him. I appreciate your efforts. Bill
I used to ride them up in Wisconsin when I was a kid. Very Fun! http://www.chicagoducks.com/ http://www.dellsducks.com/ http://www.wisconsinducktours.com/ Bill
