Hi Dante, these original colourisations are a treasure trove of information for people who take old B/W images and add hopefully lifelike colour to them, (Albeit in a modern way!) much of the information would otherwise be lost. a good thread. To The Prussian, (Andy) some really nice images you have. regards Alex

Hi Dante, glad you like them. I realise that your intention was most probably to have members post "original and period" colourisations, which they were, and am more than interested in seeing them. I also look forward to see what other members may have hidden away, as stupid as it sounds, seeing genuine period colourisations, in the end helps me to reproduce accurate images my way regards Alex

Well!!! Photoshop colourisations, a difficult one, does it matter that some were colourised nearly one hundred year ago or more recently a genuine question. Then they used paint, now we use more modern methods, the results then and now were to achieve the same result. I attach for you to decide. :) best regards Alex K If you feel they don't fit in with your thread, then I have no problem at all with them being removed

Bundesrepublik West-Berlin Police Cap
Alex K replied to Red Eagle's topic in Germany: Post 1945: Bundesrepublik & DDR
Hi Gordon, I had several hats by the same maker in my collection once. Maybe it's just me but fat capcords epitomises the style of dress both before and during the time. They seem to send out a subliminal message! (Or I'm just being strange now??) Alex K -
Another small project I did for member Paul C (Paul Cheperko)on a project he is working on, with his permission I've posted. The colourised images were in fact very small, however, they have come out not too badly, (Well I think anyway!) regards Alex K

Attached, an image of the George Cross awarded to Colin Grazier GC, on display at Bletchley Park England, former home of the WWII Enigma code breakers. The narrative reads (Top) " Able Seaman Colin Grazier GC who gave his life seizing vital enigma codes on October 1942" The lower reads "HMS Petard the ship on which Tamwoth war hero Colin Grazier changed the course of history" With possible apologies to Hollywood!!

Hi All, Attached is a colourised image of a Danish SS Officer which I have done. Thought that it might have been Per Sorrensen, but I think I'm wrong it is not him. I am however convinced that he belonged to the Danish SS. Is anyone able to put a name to the face. Any info appreciated Alex K I would have posted where I normally post these things but suspect I may not get a reply.

Hi Chuck, thanks for the message, I tried but unfortunately maybe I'm stupid, but couldn't find a way to do it, maybe I've missed something, The image was quite literally sitting on the outside on a wall of a hotel, most may have missed it but being interested in military history I spotted it straight away, The flowers were also quite nice !!
