    1. Roman , could you please post a good closeup of the other medalbar... seems to be very interesting too...
    2. Great job as always !!! Great bar with a great history - as often it is the old rule : "sometimes less is more" - not much on the bar and that is the point , and a big name behind it makes it very interesting... Matt , you have a very good bar there - take good care of it .... and of course ..... take good care of yourself now ..... because now you are on the direct way to the .... ...... slippery slope
    3. Hi Matt, thanks for posting this very interesting medal bar - very unusual combination with prussian CO4 peacetime award and then a rare Lübeck combattant award....and then long Wehrmacht service.... very interesting you don`t have a name for this one , or...??? Heiko
    4. ........ he had much more than 20 awards....... but this bar dates from 1940.......... but if you go through the bar he had some awards in 1918 + wound badge + EK1 + + + + .... and he was as Leutnant commander of a "Automobil-Kolonne" in ww1........
    5. ......I have seen Leutnants (not personally of course.............. ) with 6 , 7 and 8 awards on the bar in 1918 !!! speacial units earn special bling-bling.... some of them were drivers of high officers or commanders of automobil units (yes - Leutnants) with many awards and orders - why not a Pionier as well if he was at the right time in the right position......
    6. the missing 1897 Centenar medal makes the date clear - this bar is from between 1895 and 1987 !!! In 1895 both , the EK oakleaves and the battle clasps for the 70/71 medal were given out 25 years after the war and our man put the oakleaves and the clasps on his bar - in 1897 the Centenar maedal was given out and every still living soldier from the 70/71 war got one - I am shure that he would have put it on his bar too.... so in my eyes this bar is 100% from 1896 (+-2months )
    7. :speechless1: Now..........that is really "antique" !!!! Great stuff !!! very simple but you can taste the history when you see this...
    8. .......yesterday ended a good photo of a Hauptmann der Gebirgsjäger - I wanted to buy it but I missed the end..... my wife said something like "going shopping is important, too......" and so I was in the city when it ended... ooouuu sorry , off topic .... Ok, He had a 6-place ribbon bar in the navy-typical sew-on form !!! EK2 with Wiederholungsspange , 2 different bavarian MVK / MVO with swords , Hindenburg cross , 3.Reich officials DA , one more 3.Reich Medal (Österreich or Sudeten?) He was from Regiment 98.... Heiko
    9. ....and not to forget they are not standing somewhere on a beach, in a desert or in a jungle........... look in the background , there are painted carpets and wallpapers to create the right stage atmosphere.........
    10. now my shot in the dark................. don`t ask me why but for me the whole scene looks like a shot from a theatre , cinema or other kind of acting thing.... it is too strange that one man of the Schutztruppen gives the hand to one native farmer (?) and two navy sailormen carry a german warflag...???!!!! Just my thoughts....
    11. maybe yes .... maybe no It is a mid 20s bar when the honour cross did not exist , the DA was given out since 1913 in this type as medal....... so he could have been active during ww1 and got no additional award (but the honour cross 10 years in the future) - or he was not active and just a member in the Vets Organization..... everything is possible....
    12. Hi Mike, thank you so much for this great help !!! Maybe it would have been easier to write down what orders he DID NOT receive........ Next time when you have a problem I will spend my day not in the garden but over the books !!! best wishes Heiko
    13. that`s what TacHel said before - and that`s why we need to see the back - maybe you can see some colour traces there because the stripes are too small for all red eagle / AEZ things......... all is guessing now
    14. Thank you for your help!!! Is this the uniform of the Bonner K?nigshusaren where he was in 1870 or what uniform is this???
    15. Hi all, can someone help me out with the name of that general here.... a lot of interesting stuff on his body!!! For the most of you maybe the orders around his neck are the most interesting thing here - for me it is the Jerusalem cross... unfortunately you can`t see the whole medal bar.... but nevertheless - a great picture!!! The photo is dated 1906 thanks for all help Heiko
    16. Hello, seems to be one of the millions of private pieces from vets organizations ................. a lot of them around here in germany and really nothing special , sorry.... not a big value to talk about....
    17. ..........but he was looking great in his brand new SS-costume , wasn`t he...
