    1. I've ordered my copy too. Time now to be patient while it's in the hands of the respective postal services. Rich
    2. Otis Could you post a clear, close-up of the decal? I do not specialise in FJ helmets but do follow discussions on them and do have one example myself. I would like to see some better pics of your helmet before adding my opinion. Rich
    3. For those of you interested in the variations of the Knight's Cross and the many threads discussing rounders, unknown makers, etc. this photo is interesting... It looks like none of the 'authorised' makers but yet it must be. Perhaps the cross is sitting at an unusual angle, but the arms look very narrow. Any thoughts/guesses as to which maker? I'm thinking it must be Juncker. Rich
    4. Here's the pics supplied by Repadilla. My own opinion is reproduction. Rich
    5. Thanks! When I got it another collector looked up the soldiers details, which are available online (but I'm sorry to say I forget where). If I recall correctly the soldier was in the transport corp but nothing more than that. Thanks for the compliment Paul! Rich
    6. Rick, congratulations to your friend. He has an amazing piece of history! @Henry: Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and the translation. I have enjoyed reading this thread as it unfolded, the end result being stunning. Rich
    7. I've sent you a private message with my email address if you want to send the pictures to me I'll resize them for you. Rich
    8. Stijn Another fine additional and wonderful history! With the Glider badge being introduced in late 1940 it's clear that Bruder Schneider, Wien were one of the early contractors for this badge. Out of interest, what's the earliest date you have for an awarded Juncker? Rich
    9. Repadilla Welcome to GMIC, I hope you find your stay here pleasant and informative! As for your potential purchase, I would recommend that you post images of the cross here first before committing to buy. The marking L/21 is not a recognised manufacturer of the Ritterkreuz so already I would have concerns. Regards Rich
    10. Thanks for the comments I've been collecting/building my knowledge base for 20 years and only in the last 5 years have been able to add such items. Slowly but surely... Rich
    11. Thanks for the comments guys! Well, here's the answer: It came directly from the family of the vet who 'captured' it. Is was sold by his niece who also provided the capture papers. Needless to say, it's one of those pieces everyone dreams of obtaining and I was extremely pleased to get it. Rich
    12. When I was taken by the helmet bug, I want to have a representation of Kreigsmarine helmets. I ended up with 4 but here I'll share one of each model: M35 with national shield removed M40 Rich
    13. Here for your perusal, is my complete flight helmet. It's a little scuffed around the ear cones but is complete. The throat mike strap is secured with a single, large pop-stud as opposed to the smaller 2 pop-stud type. It's standard dark-brown in colour. One day I hope to add the summer version and netted version. Rich
    14. Got some of my big dogs out for an airing this morning. Here there are all together. Comprising of: Juncker L/12 800 cased with full length ribbon and displayed on a nice wearing ribbon Steinhaur & L?ck '800' with wearing ribbon and cased with nice long length of ribbon Cased DKiG by '134' Cased DKiG by '21' Nice, early Ehrenpokal in 835 silver awarded in March 1941 These are the central pieces in my awards collection. Rich
    15. Morning all! Chris B shared with us his ultimate combat helmet that has history to a famous regiment. Today I'll share this one with you. As you can see it's a nice Luft M42 SD with the shell marked NS64. Liner is standard with pin-skin leather and original chin-strap. Unfortunately no name can be found anywhere on this helmet. So where does the 'history' part come in??? Can anyone guess??
    16. I spotted this and though it would be nice to show. I've seen many de-nazified pieces around but never in this novel fashion. Very smartly done!! Rich
    17. Fran?ois, That's a very nice medal bar and I would think not such a common combination? Rich
    18. Very nice selection of Juncker pieces. Are you going for the whole series to include RO/AG, Airgunner, unqualified airgunner, observer, flak, glider, etc, etc. ? Rich
    19. Burnie From the photos, which are not great, it appears to be a '3rd type' Juncker. I hope others add to your request and give their thoughts/opinions too. Rich
    20. Joel That's what I love to see... very nice condition (mint?) with a light patina! Rich
