    1. Dave A pleasure to came back and revisit your thread and wonderful collection. Regards Rich
    2. Thanks for posting those pics. From what I see it doesn't appear to be any different from the 1st edition other than correcting mistakes. I think I'll save my money. Rich
    3. Could someone post a picture of something that isn't in the 1st edition but special enough to make me want to order this edition? Rich
    4. Eric I don't know why but what's up with the detail around the eagles head? It looks very soft and undetailed! Any i've seen are super-sharp and highly detailed. Having said that, the overall badge looks correct. Noting the double striking of the MM perhaps the over-zealous employee destroyed the detail in attempting to mark it? Close-up of mine... Rich
    5. I can think of several makers that used this style of catch... S&L(4), Orth(15), Fritz Zimmermann(6) spring to mind as well as the fake Floch. So it seems just to be a 'style' and not identifiable to one particular maker. Rich
    6. Jan Arne, Impossible to upgrade. Here's my example, unmarked but vaulted. Rich
    7. Dave no problem for more than one if the set-up is different. Thanks so far, we are off to a good start. I'll add L/19, Ferdinand Hoffstadter...
    8. I'm sure this has been discussed before but humour me. Could it be possible to fully identify all known EK1 makers? I have put this list together from memory. Am I missing any? It would be nice to have a mint example of each posted but let's not post the same maker more than once!! I'll post what I have but if you have the same type in better condition please post it and I'll remove mine. Mark Maker 1 & L/10 Deschler & Sohn L/12 C.E. Junker 3 & L/11 Wilhelm Deumer 4 & L/16 Steinhauer & Luck E Ferd Wiedmann 6 Fritz Zimmermann 7 & L/13 Paul Meyhauer L/19 Ferdinand Hoffstadter 11 Grossmann & Co. (Questionable) 15 Friedrich Orth 16 & L/59 Alois Rettenmaier 20 & L/52 C.F. Zimmermann 26 & L/18 B. H. Mayer 65 Klein & Quenzer A.G. Rudolf Souval 100 & L/55 Rudolf Wachtler & Lange 107 Carl Wild L/15 Otto Schickle L/50 Godet L/53 Hymmen & Co. L/54 Schauerte & H?hfeld L/56 Funcke & Bruningshaus L/57 Boerger & Co. Koch ?? I put a question on Grossmann because Grossmann is a bit of a split camp as to whether it's actually an early Deumer or from Grossmann. Thought's? Rich
    9. Stijn I'm a little confused by your last post. You list 2 Richters: * Richter Walter => honour goblet A) Ehrenpokal date 20.04.1942 / Feldwebel - Bordmechanic B) Ehrenpokal date 08.05.1943 / Oberfeldwebel - Pilot These are awarded over a year apart so I don't understand how you think it could be either? Do you have the Ehrenpokal you are researching? There are 3 Walther Richters listed in Die Inhaber Des Ehrenpokals Fur Besondere Leistung Im Luftkrieg: A) Fw. Bordmechaniker 20.04.42 B) Ofw. Flugzeugfuhrer 01.02.43 C) Uffz. Bordmechaniker 16.02.42 For the DKiG there is: 1) Walter Richter Obfw. 2./KG 1 17.10.1943 2) Walther Richter Uffz. 3./KG 53 27.10.1942 * Note the different spelling of Walther => Walter So if the date on the ehrenpokal is 16.04.1942 it must be A). From what I have seen a few days difference in the date of document and on goblet is OK. (Fran?ois would be able to confirm). It may be that he never won the DKiG so maybe he is not 1) nor 2), or as you say he may have transfered to KG1 but wold this not be unlikely with a NCO? If this was possible and you know for sure he won the DKiG then it must be a) and 1) ? Rich
    10. Marcus Yes, I do (they are in the UK) and I was able to contact him a few years back and he kindly supplied a scan of the Soldbuch photo (see the small photo on the stand) and a MSWord document of a translation of the citation. I think RK's to Nashorn crews are very rare (I know of only 3) and the Cassino factor makes it even more desirable. I would love to think that should the documents ever come up for sale that I would get '1st refusal'. Rich
