    1. Thanks for posting this plaque!! I really like medical related stuff. Do you have any more Iraqi medical related regalia?

That is an awesome Legion Condor collection!! The KIA medal is a rare treat to see!! Can you please post closeups of both sides of that particular medal?
    3. You are the luckiest man on the planet to have one of the rarest LW awards WITH provenance! Congratulations! :jumping:
    4. Hi Doug! Welcome back! I would love to see the group. It sounds great. Do you have a photo to post?
    5. I would say so! What are the odds of a Baker in an Army who was in a full force winning streak be in a professional position to win such a valor award? Perhaps there was some sort of small German counter attack where he found himself on the front for a small bit of time?
    6. I do not know anything about rings, but you might want to post the set in the Spanish Civil War section as well(it is a Condor Legion Commemorative ring of some sort)... You may get more replies there. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showforum=90
    7. Which ones are you missing? I thought that you had them all.... I would be happy with a single Reserve Engineer tab.
    8. I know what you mean... Right time and right place. I was lucky too. Nothing like a XX Anniversary of Red Army with photoed document for 200 dollars and a screwback ORB with some enamel replacement(minor) for 190 dollars!! Most of my Soviet Orders and medals I would not be able to afford today! My only regret is that I did not get some of the items I wanted when I could have actually afforded them. I remember Igor offering me a Nakhimov medal without document for 200 dollars, but I wanted a whole bunch of WW2 Campaign medals he had at the time, instead...
    9. Lorenzo, Thank you for sharing these significant photos. It is interesting how they followed the British style of military uniforms. You have a lot of history in this thread. Baghdadi, Welcome to the forum!! It is great to see someone around with your expertise and knowledge of the local history. I hope that you enjoy your time here, and make many replies. I look forward to learning a lot from you! Regards, Paul
    10. I have a similar grouping(book with only Order of Lenin listed). I am certain that mine is a civilian as well. It is a real shame that these are not researchable!
    11. I love it!! Valor in rescuing his comrades from the field! Better than a medical citation! I wonder what he did to get his Badge of Honor in 1945! It is a shame that the civil orders cannot be researched!
    12. Research makes a great Order amazing. What was the other order listed?
    13. Lorenzo, In your case, your Commendation was earned and you should be proud to wear it. In my time in the service, I have met with many Army personnel. Army personnel seem to get Achievement and Commendation medals for things that would get personnel in the Marines and Coast Guard a simple pat on the back and a verbal "job well done". I think that the Army has cheapened the value of their medals because of this. Another Example, I have seen several Army Lower NCO's with Meritorious Service Medals for helping to facilitate a local drill or exercise!! In the Coast Guard or Marines, I have only seen four enlisted people with this prestigious medal and the lowest ranked member was an E8 at a highly responsible District level! Regards Paul
    14. It is funny how some items can return to a collection. I sold this eagle a few years ago, thinking that it was a standard Police Eagle. I did not know that the Luftschutzpolizei used sleeve eagles until after I sold it. Well, after it traveling through a few owners, it finally returned home, where it belongs! Paul
    15. Dear Lord Gary, Those are amazing!! What are the difference between the police and the SA tabs?
    16. EUR 145 in 1996? That was about 150 dollars back then! That was your once in a lifetime bargain!! It is a beautiful piece. Please get the research!
    17. I agree. This is one of the more beautifully crafted awards. The enameling and the multi piece construction screams pure quality!
    18. I think that Psychological causes could be a reason, but not the best IMHO as he still on active duty. There could still be some medical reasons that would not warrant a wound badge, such as vision degradation, vertigo, and etc.
    19. I know that the ink is fresher... but how can you tell that they are not later entries with a different in?
