    1. Dedhansen!! Thank you! Do you have any ideas of the battles that unit participated in between Jan-May of 1945?
    2. Larry, The man in the lower photo appears to be a General Staff Officer, right? Olaf, I did not know that they made post cards like that. Very nice piece!
    3. That is a beautiful award. Do you have any of the documentation that accompanied it? Award citation and etc?
    4. Welcome to the forum. Very interesting story with your grandfather. What format of images were you using? JPEG?
    5. Here are pages that show his assignment to the 416th and the two simutaneous awards of the TDB
    6. He was in a few. He received the two at the same time in April of 1945 while he was assigned to the 416th IR. I am trying to find out more about the unit. All I've been able to find on the Lexicon is that it was established in late 1944. He was at many different units over his 16 year career. Here is a thread I've started on him.
    7. Those images have a life to them! Spectacular work. The bomber images are chilling.
    8. Very cool. I see such drone tours as the way of the future for showing us the old battle fields.
    9. I want to share with you all my first Tank Destruction Badge in Black. This will be the first of two I need for my relative's display. I hope that you all like it. It looks to be a textbook example to me.
    10. Can they reestablish the same medal if needed, with a clasp? Like the GSM?
    11. I think that we would simply go with the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Service Medal.
    12. Yes- very interesting stuff. Thanks for the information.
    13. Coast Guard, Navy, and Marine Corps use large golden stars (Silver star for sixth award) and the "V" to denote valor. You can have one awarded for valor and three for merit, and the ribbon will still have the one V. There is no way to really tell(other than the citation) the total number of Valor awards in the case of multiple awards by looking at the ribbon and medal.
    14. I look forward to more input on this one. SS helmets scare me due to the accuracy in the reproductions of the decals. What is that stamp on the liner?
    15. Here is another photo that found yesterday. The photo marks the surrender of the Free Polish Army on the 2nd of October, 1944.
    16. Thank you. Did the 1933-45 era Germany have a day of remembrance to those who fell, like we have Memorial Day here? I am just wondering when this medal would have been worn.
    17. Here is a very simple but nice Widow's cross made perhaps for fallen's father. He had enough pride in the award to get it mounted for wear.
    18. Thanks John. I am selling to cut back space consuming volume and reinvesting in smaller higher value items for the sake of portability. (moving)
    19. That is crude looking. Is there a way to verify the era?
