    1. You are so correct!! That is why I love East German items as well. The problem is that I do not have much more space to add to this. I might be selling a lot of my DDR stuff off in the future. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2569 Warm regards Paul
    2. The next and last photo is of civil boards. Police Meister Zoll set(I do not know the rank at this time) Judicial board(I know nothing of the rank strcture or roll these people played)
    3. The next set has: A set of Hauptman's Boards(if someone has two pips matching the ones on the other board, please let me know... I would like to restore this set to the way it used to be.) A single Heer Pioneer Officer Candidate. I need an original set of two pips for this one as well. (larger sized) A single Luftwaffe Flak EM board A single Luftwaffe Sonderfuhrer Board A single Heer Admin board with a grey secondary waffenfarbe.
    4. The next pic: Single Luftwaffe General Staff Oberst Single Luftwaffe Pioneer/Reichsluftfahrtministerium Major Single Salty and extremely well worn Infantry Major that used to be an Oberst. The regimental numbers were removed as well Single Heer Arty Hauptman Single Luftwaffe Flak Lt. Single Heer Signals Lt
    5. Next up is a set of Heer transport/supply boards for a Hauptman. The tabs came with these boards. There is a numbered transport board. No cypher. Could this be a paymaster??
    6. Next is a set of Heer Hauptman Veterinarian Boards and a single Kriegsmarine Veterinarian Board.
    7. The next pic is of a pair SS Obersturmf?hrer medical boards and a single EM board of a Heer medical Feldwebel.
    8. Good Morning. I want to take a few moments and show off what I have in the way of shoulder boards. The reason for posting them here is that they are of various branches of the military/govt and Did not want to scatter them throughout the forum. The first scan is of medical related boards. The Majors are all Heer. For some reason, the Staff/serpent insignia are not were never placed on these boards. The Oblt are Luftwaffe, another Luft Board is Lt. The Lt board with the duller braid is heer.
    9. This bar is unique as it is on a bakelite bar. This one is a Stogieman special! I bought it for the Lifesaving medal ribbon
    10. Here is my contribution to this thread... I have two medals... one cased and one single as well as one unique ribbon bar to share.
    11. Did original flag raiser receive the title of Hero, or did the film soldier get the destinction? Paul
    12. That one does seem a bit odd... That is definately a medical waffenfarbe. Does the device appear to have been there for a while?
    13. Here is another website that gets pretty in depth... http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/su%5Evctry.html
    14. There seems to be some confusion on the matter... This information comes from the Wikipedia site. "just read the article on the Reichstag and noticed that you wrote the passage on the red flag saying it was staged and stuff. I checked with modern Russian sources and they say that the daytime attack on the Reichstag began on April 30, 1945. Indeed, a couple of them say that the attack was unsuccessful, however, most of them say that it did happen and soldiers V.Provotorov and G.Bulatov attached the flag to the pediment at 2:25 pm on April 30. Bulatov's awarding ceremony has been documented (order No.0121/н from June 8, 1945). The sources then say that soldiers M.A.Yegorov and M.V.Kantariya placed the flag on the cupola of the Reichstag at 9:50 pm on April 30 (looks like a few hours later). Some sources say that by early morning of May 1, the flag had already been there. I just wanted to know your opinion on all of this. KNewman 16:28, Dec 14, 2004" (UTC)
    15. I am convinced the shoulder board you have is PanzerGren. I have sent you a PM. Warm Regards Paul
    16. I was thinking the same about #36. LW Braid is "shinier" than that of the Heer. Also the brown is of a different tone with the Heer Recon. I disagree with the PzGren. From everything I have ever seen, Jager is a darker green than PzGren. Paul
    17. Wow Laurence, You LW collection is moving right along!!! You have some great tabs! Keep 'em coming! Paul
    18. You have a very nice array of Heer insignia. It looks like you have a special focus on the administrative branch. I know between the various waffenfarbe and secondary waffenfarbe combinations out there, it could be quite a challenge to find them all! Paul
    19. Thank you for sharing your DKs. Are they really as heavy as they look? I bet there were a lot lost in the field. Although the gold version is considered most desireable, I feel the silver grade is awesome! Paul
    20. I do understand how busy and expensive family life can be. I do not have any grand childern yet. Hopefully I have a while before that happens I have been focusing on LW collar tabs as the uniforms have been getting more and more expensive lately! Even the collar tabs have been getting up there! I can hardly wait to see your new finds! PAul
    21. Lawerance, Thank you for posting your KM collection. I especially like your shoulder boards! How long have you been collecting these? Paul
    22. It is nice to know that sailors are pretty much the same world wide. Since being a medic, I have treated many cases of "unmentionable disorders" ... I can understand! Well, I would be interested in ANY stories that you can post... Military or medical. Paul
    23. Thanks PK. I have returned your PM! Don, I really do not know what the Spanish patches represent. Maybe someone else here can shed some light on this? Thanks Paul
