    2. Thanks to Chris Boonzaier, My solitary Imperial Prussian Lifesaving medal bar
    3. I think that you should have as well!!! I would have loved to have seen them! These green ones are the first I have ever seen in this configuration!! I bet that the blue ones were really something to see!
    4. Here is the Coast Guard's solitary awardee. His MOH citation reads as follows: Awarded posthumously to DOUGLAS ALBERT MUNRO, SIGNALMAN FIRST CLASS, U.S. COAST GUARD 'For extraordinary heroism and conspicuous gallantry in action above and beyond the call of duty as Office-in-Charge of a group of Higgins boats, engaged in the evacuation of a Battalion of Marines trapped by enemy Japanese forces at Point Cruz, Guadalcanal, on September 27, 1942. After making preliminary plans for the evacuation of nearly 500 beleaguered Marines, Munro, under constant risk of his life, daringly led five of his small craft toward the shore. As he closed the beach, he signalled [sic] the others to land, and then in order to draw the enemy's fire and protect the heavily loaded boats, he valiantly placed his craft with its two small guns as a shield between the beachhead and the Japanese. When the perilous task of evacuation was nearly completed, Munro was killed by enemy fire, but his crew, two of whom were wounded, carried on until the last boat had loaded and cleared the beach. By his outstanding leadership, expert planning, and dauntless devotion to duty, he and his courageous comrades undoubtedly saved the lives of many who otherwise would have perished. He gallantly gave up his life in defense of his country.'" 5. Hi Gary, Thank you for reply! It was explained to me that the use of cardboard and other stiffner material was a practice used in the latter half of the war. It would make sense! As far as the FD tabs, I found a set just like them in Vol 2 of Angolia's, "Uniforms and Traditions of the Luftwaffe". Page 255. The only difference is that the tabs are waffenfarbed for the HG division. Other than the waffenfarbe, the construction, gulls, and piping are identical. What are your thoughts? Regards Paul
    6. My newst find... a set of Luftwaffe Field Division Officer candidate tabs. These are also unissued and bound together.
    7. You are right... i have not seen such sharp images! Here are a few new tabs that I have added to my collection. The first is a nice set of Flight pipped ObLt, still bound together.
    8. Robin, Your collection is mindblowing! I always enjoy seeing your "older" skulls! What is the earliest item you have in this theme?
    9. I agree!! Yet another piece on my wish list!
    10. Thanks for information Tom, Jason, and Wild Card!!! Very nice bars!!! That EK2 is really something!
    11. Thanks Jason! I did a quick search and could not find anything on this site about it. What was it awarded for? Valor award?
    12. Jason, What is the first medal on that bar? Awesome stuff guys! These early bars are definately attention getters for me!
    13. By the look on his face, I would be that he earned them!
    14. This man appears to be a real veteran. Can anyone tell what medals he is wearing? Paul
    15. Very nice Rick!!! The P-G example seems to have a gilt finish? Were they all made this way?
    16. My only example. So this award could be compared to the Combattant Hindenburg Cross, in the manner it was to be awarded?
    17. Sorry for the horrid quality of the pics. I will make some scans of the groupings in the near future.
    18. If someone has some surplus Ryker mounts... please drop me a PM! Anyway, here are the medals and orders! I have the duplicates in another case.
