    1. Here is a nice one. When I look close I can see 4 colors. Nice liner and strap. Named on the rim but hard to make out. H L---s--m??? Something like that. byf
    2. Here is one of my GIs set up for Bastogne, looks cold. byf
    3. Yes, there were Frau 2&3, but, alas, he did not win any EKs to my knowledge. I thought they went well together. byf
    4. Mixed EKs and my Great Grandfather in his Prussian Cavalry uniform, with Frau 1. byf
    5. Here is a shot of one of my troopers as he would be seen in Russia in Autumn. byf
    6. A nice little gaggle there. They look like they are in great shape. Thanks, byf
    7. Yes,it looks like you have strayed a bit away from WWII weapons. What a great collection. Thanks for posting. byf
    8. Two very nice pistols there, thanks men. It sure is a fun area of collecting. byf
    9. It sounds like a pretty nice tunic. How many awards could he have been awarded? He has EK2 and Russian Front bibbons, 1 screw-back something, and a 3 ribbon bar. That is not bad. He was lucky, no wound badge. Also, some awards were put in for but never recieved. My friend Albert was at Stalingrad, flying the supplys in and the wounded out. He was awarded the Russian Front, Airgunner/Flight Engineer Badge, and Silver Wound Badge. He was put in for the EK2 but he was captured by the Russians before it was awarded to him. So to me it seems the number of awards on the tunic is ok, but I am no expert. Just my 2 Phennigs. byf
    10. Hello lads. Can anyone tell me the status of South Africa in WWII? Were they part of the Commonwealth? Or were they independant? What about Rhodesia as well? Ignorant Yank here, assembling curriculum for a history unit on WWII for the kids in my program. Thanks much. byf
    11. So sad that these morons can not figure that a group is a group. Boy, that is a sad tale. What a hero. byf
    12. Douglas Jr. You have very nice pistols there. Thanks for showing us. byf
    13. The decal on my M42 is a bit crooked as well. I think they were ducking bombs at that point. byf
    14. What a beautiful piece. Words do not do it justice. What is the caliber? Is it 9mm Parabellum? I am not familliar with an export round. Great post, thanks. byf
    15. Very nice pieces. I did not know that the DDR rebuilt Lugers. It makes sense. I always thought the East Germans were the best gun makers in the Warsaw Pact. Looks like you prove my point. Thanks for the pics. byf
    16. I do not know. I used to live there. They have a long warrior tradition. The big farm boys were important, the area was famous for large men in the army. They were issued pikes. Perhaps they just like things big. byf
    17. A nice Helm. I love them. They painted mine under the rim as well so no maker marks are visible. Then it looks like they dumped extra sand on the outside and brushed it around with more paint. It is pretty thick in some places. Can't see any decal. byf
    18. Nice pieces. I never seem to see big bars, 6-7-8 ribbons. The largest I've ever had was 5. What do they go for? byf
    19. I no longer have it. I traded it for a Kar98k and a fantastic cammo M35 luft Helm. This was 10 years ago, I wish I still had it as prices have gone up so much. I have not been able to post any pics. I have to use a friend's camera and have resized them but they won't post. I am a T-Rex on the tech end. I'll keep trying. byf
    20. Eduardo, Looks like you have a wonderful and unique collection there. Thanks for posting. byf
