    1. Panzerpionier, you said the Ega?a company is now defunct. Do you know when they went out of business? Did they sell their medal dies to another company? Thanks!
    2. That would be my thought. A superb piece - thanks for sharing it.
    3. Geez - that officer looks like a mean SOB. The airman in the background seems to be dancing the hokey-pokey...
    4. Richard, from what I've gathered here and at WAF, Spain/Egana contracted many of it's award manufacture to other countries (Italy was one) as resources were scarce immediately following the Civil War. So, they both could be Egana badges from different foreign contracts. Paul, the Cruz de Guerra badge is not all that 'rare', as Spain continued to make them long after the SCW had ended (like the SCW Campaign Medal). However, a Legion Condor-attributed badge might be considered scarce. From what I've read, a LC member awarded one of these by Spain was typically awarded the Spanish Cross in Gold with Swords when he returned to Germany (1,126 awarded). It was a galantry award; there was another similar award for combat support actions without swords and white enamel on the arms of the cross. Here's a Cruz de Guerra award document - very similar to other SCW award documents, with the name of the award filled in on the appropriate line. Scott
    5. Thank you gentlemen. My friend received additional photos, but they're no better than those above. The owner did provide the wreath measurements, 55mm high x 44mm wide, and a weight of .7oz. How does that compare with a period badge? Thanks again.
    6. Posting this for a friend who is considering purchasing it (these are the only photos he has at the moment). It looks like an unmarked Juncker to me - what does the forum say? All comments/opinions welcome. Thanks! Scott
    7. I would have expected a prinzen EK to be of 800 silver.
    8. Nice!
    9. Some amazing REOs here! I only have one - marked JG&S between the arms.
    10. Amazing tunics there Bob - thanks for sharing them.
    11. Superb bar - congratulations.
    12. Another great photo. Looks like Sauke saw some action at some point, he's sporting the EKII spangen & KVKIx. I believe he's sitting with RJL Artur Axmann, before Axmann lost his arm in combat on the eastern front, dating this photo between spring 1940 and fall 1941.
    13. Note the droop tail eagles, cross-strap with the belt, no second-model dagger, and the "right vs. wrong" wear of the unifom. It also has proper saluting techniqe, how to organize your uniform locker (this eary issue shows a DLV hat in the locker), personal hygene, marksmanship, navigation, & more. Fun stuff and a good reference.
    14. Paul, I have the 1936 issue with the blue cover (first in the series I believe). I paid $35 for it via Manion's a couple of years back. I don't think they made one '45, and I'm not certain about '44. I'd like to find a '39 or '40 for comparison purposes as well.
    15. Nice J1. Has the catch been replaced or re-attached?
    16. Thanks!
    17. Very nice
    18. Very nice. Any markings on the back?
    19. Very nice with good photography. Well done!
    20. Gordon, Just curious... does the ad you show indicate they have offices in Austria and Rumania?
    21. I agree with everything John said. It would be best to avoid this lot.
    22. Agreed. Even some post-war made ribbons will not glow under UV.

      Repro Ribbon Bars

This was posted in another forum, but because there are some Legion Condor-type ribbon bars involved, I thought it should be posted here too. "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is." http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2914...mp;#entry274746
