    1. Since I don't have a bronze class (yet), I am glad to see this thread expand. Also, sonce I don't have the Big Book (yet), I shall need expert guidance. A silver:
    2. Yes, that is Eisenhower's. From their collection. Which, apparently, That Forum has the unmitigated gall to assert is under their copyright!!! Someone needs to sue their pretentious bandwidth off! This would go to six digits (US$) in damages in intellectual property court. (Shall see if I still have ex-students at the Eisenhower Museum. I know I have an ex-student in a major intellectual property firm. Time for introductions.)
    3. For someone working hard to "learn" Hungarian awards, a nice, nice post. Thanks!
    4. I know the Jodhpur Lancers were there, but have no evidence of the 2nd Patiala Lancers in Palestine (and Head and McClanaghan don't show them either).
    5. Obviously, a broken group, but still a nice pair. 11360 Wing Commander Vinod Agnihotri, VSM, Indian Air Force 1- Videsh Seva, Oman - "13360 WG CDR V AGNIHOTRI IAF" 2- Nine Year Service Medal - "13360 WG CDR V AGNIHOTRI IAF" With "Oman" being a fairly uncommon clasp to the Videsh Seva Medal. Chacking Jagan's fine database -- http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/IAF/Database/index.html -- I find that 13360 Wing Commander Vinod Agnihotri was an IAF medical officer. He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal, GoI, 26 January 1995.
    6. He did get the Soviet Hero Star and the usual accompanying Lenin. This is what he is getting from Brezhnev and he wears that star in the photo with mom. All brotherly cosmonauts got that pair.
    7. The last one, absolutely, a document replacement/copy (I suspect the old one fell apart or no one could read the bichig anymore by 1986). The first two are PROBABLY medal replacements shown in the original document. I thought I made that clear, sorry.
    8. I sometimes come to hate the "partitioning" of information between fora. Why doesn't everyone just come over HERE and share their wisdom. But some of the folks out there don't like our gentlemanly rules??
    9. Has anyone ever seen a good image of a Victory reverse? Most of the images out there (some/many/most stolen) are from the Eisenhower Victory, and every image I have ever seen has the screwplate attached, obscuring number (or not).
    10. Never been in an Iraqi mosque, but most of those I was in in Afghanistan (outside Kabul) had rafters, as did many rural mosques in Saudi Arabia (including al-Wahhab's own mosque). Nevertheless . . . . This is, however,

    12. Interesting results. The document shown in post #2: And the document in post #6: There is some concern thet these order books may have been faked, to pair with "rogue" medals, but neither came with medals, so . . . ????

    16. Sad news. The medal mounting and ribbon making gentleman in New Delhi used by me and by many of us, directly or indirectly, has passed away. A true gentleman and craftsman of the old school he will be missed. A moment oif silence, please. This leaves me with many "naked" groups I had not wanted to post until they were properly garbed. I shall post a few, on and off, as I can. JC-48211 Subadar Kartar Chand, Signals 1- Paschimi Star - "JC 48211 SUB K CHAND SIGS" 2- Sangram Medal - ""JC 48211 SUB KAHTAR CHAND SIGS 3- Samniya Seva, Jammu-Kashmir - "JC-48211 SUB. 17. So true, like those pretending to be "patriots". There are more than enough legitimate tales.
    18. And, while this scan may not work due to the robust structure of the pin, here are the reverses (1 / 2 / 3). The second class is Neumann's.
