    1. Wild Card, thanks for the kind words. It is the first time I visit back this thread. Sorry for the delay.
    2. Not sure if the "modern Katyusha" would be usefull in the modern warfare??? My guess is to say no!
    3. It says in your post that the pictures come mainly from the Central Museum of the Armed Forces in Moscow. What are they other places that features some of your pictures? I'll be their in 2 months so I do not want to miss what I missed last time I was in Moscow! By the way, thank you very for the sneak preview before I get there!
    4. Thank you very much for your input Dave. I guess I haven't look very good my group and that I do own the WW2 Red Star. I'm in Germany right now and I don't have my collection with me, so I haven't looked carefully at my pictures posted earlier. I will take notes of what you recommand me and contact the researcher next week.
    5. Thank you Gerd. Do you know what can I learn about my group except that the medals belong together? I mean I only have one numbered order in that group and it doesn't worth researching it. And if I ask the citation for the wartime Red Star, I'll have a citation to a medal that doesn't belong to me.
    6. I'd like to do the same with my Red Banner screwback! Can someone please PM the e-mail of the researcher? I guess I have misplaced a PM where I had all the information. I would also like to research this group: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=7161&hl= What should I ask if I want something interesting and that I'm not ready to pay $210 to research this group? By the way, I'm supposed to go to Moscow in August. Would it be faster to pay the researcher while being there?
    7. Wow I like those worn orders and especially when researched like this. In few months I'll also research some of my medals!
    8. If it turned out to be a fake, I would say it is a very good one! I think in my own opinion that there is no problem with that one, but I am no specialist.
    9. Why does some Red Banners have a silver finish and others a bronze finish? Like the 2 shown by Mondvor.
    10. I think Alexei from Nota Bene still has some copies for sale. I am not sure.
    11. What should we look for at the first glance? The stamp, the entries ???
    12. Dolf, I guess the veteran didn't like to have holes in his jacket. So he converted them to pinback. That's the only reason I see why he should have done that. Otherwise we will have to ask him! I'm not sure of the serial number of the left one. I guess it is # 1788174. These orders are at my home in Canada, so I can't answer you now.
    13. And this one is part of a group I own that I have shown here. That's all I have. I might have some more when I?ll stop buying my medals with my scholarships.
    14. Pronunciation http://www.russisch.tv/Musik/alphabet-letters.mp3
    15. Well if you consider that the Soviet made the revolution in 1917 and that they didn't fought long time against the Germans, I'm not even sure if these Soviet WWI cap badges did exist in 1917-1918.
    16. That is easy to say for the older collectors: "I do not buy that much these days". but the situation is different when you are a new collector. You have to face those silly price and listening to people speaking about the good days.
