Very nice historical piece. Wouldn't mind seeing some more of his WW-2 related paperwork in its own thread.

Here are two examples to the same soldier. He initially received the Wound Badge in Black in late November 1941 for schrapnel injuries to his face a week earlier. He spent the rest of the war recovering and spending time in the Regiment's replacement units until in December 1944, the Wound Badge in Black was upgraded to Silver for the same wound received 3 years earlier.

A 1939 dated EK II citation and a 1940 dated EK I citation awarded to the gunnery officer onboard Scharnhorst, Ernst Dominik, who would go on to serve as the Second in Command onbaord the ship when she was sunk and was awarded the DKiG. EK II signed by Wilhelm Marschall & EK I signed by Günther Lütjens... Also shown is a small paper folder that the two EK citations were kept in.

EK II citation awarded to a soldier serving with a heavy artillery unit that was equipped with siege artillery (30.5 & 35.5cm guns) with 18 Armee at the time of the award...
