    1. Hi Guys, I finally got around to ordering research on an Order of Glory 3rd class (SN 26137) I have in my collection since years. If anybody would be able to help a little with the translation, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jan

    6. Thank you for sharing all these magnificent pieces. Their beauty is beyond compare Jan
    7. Now I know why these are so hard to find, you've got them all. Congratulations on a very nice collection. Jan
    8. Hi Bob, I would think that the original pre-printed writing has faded, but the individualised text is still very strong. Best regards, Jan
    9. Since the purple text is pre-printed, my guess would be that this just reads has the right to wear the Croix de Guerre (with 3 citation stars) Best regards, Jan
    10. Regimental order n° 136 of October 14, 1918 Mention in despatches on regimental level, to Lecourtois, Robert sergeant quartermaster of the 7th Regiment de Marche de Tirailleurs. Has, during the operations of september 1918, coldbloodedly and with intelligence fulfilled several liaison missions. Has shown pure devotion and great courage under difficult circumstances. This is his 3rd MiD and would have earned him a bronze star on his Croix de guerre. Best regards, Jan
    11. Thank you for posting. It's great to have a good look at this medal. Best regards, Jan
    12. The Belgium Army did no use any particular attach system. Soldiers had to buy these themselves for local suppliers. Every supplier had his own range of products, so there is no way to make a general guideline. I would say both bars are from the same guy. Your chap, was in the resistance during WWII, probably professional soldier following the war. Last ribbon is the commemorative medal for the reign of King Albert 1, which was given from 1960 onwards. Hope that helps, Jan
    13. A bronze star for gallantry would have a V (valor) device on the ribbon, if I'm not mistaken. Jan
    14. The crown suspension looks typically Belgian, but that's about all I can say jan
    15. Gentlemen, I've seen 2 Belgian medal groups with US Bronze Stars, and each was awarded to an "older" officer who did not see any combat action during the war, but served as a liaison officer between US and Belgian troops. So the SHAEF connection seems very plausible to me. Best regards, Jan
    16. That is exactly what these are. They exist for all medals. Jan
