    1. Probably even bigger than that. A very precious treasure of national, regional and world heritage. Best, Nick
    2. Luckily for them the chances for such meeting are next to zero. One is wearing shoulder boards for 警部/Keibu/Police inspector that were in use between 1908 and 1935 (your case). Another decorated himself with shoulder boards for 警部補/Keibuho/Assistant police inspector that were in use between 1935 and 1946.
    3. I am afraid the regulation № 2539 from June 21, 1935 is not the correct one for your shoulder board. Simply imagine these two chaps meet each other. "You have wider galloon?!" Quite offensive
    4. You see Tom, in case of these shoulder boards the devil is in the details. On the left we see assistant police inspector shoulder boards. But your variant is on the rigth
    5. Yes, looks like a French work. Not that good quality either. Looks like a boar's head silver mark
    6. Hi Zoran, looks like nice original Huguenin piece. (its better to attach photos directly to the forum since dropbox photos have a tendency to disappear after while). Source. Best, Nick
    7. Next step - a long close look at this urushi. Inside the "leg" 昭和十年 - 1935 It was issued to commemorate the visit of prince Kan'in Kotohito to the Fukushima branch of the association. As we see birdy is already in place
    8. First of all reading of this book might help. Inside (among other things) you gonna find the picture of the second president of this association (from 1923) Prince Kan'in Kotohito.
    9. I know that I don`t know the exact time frame for 7th class badges of rising sun order without enamel at reverses. But what I know is that there are two types of 7th class rising suns without enamel at reverse. First type have all typical features of afterwar award. I know for a fact (because of numerous authentic groups) that this type were used for veteran awardings during 1960s. The case. Now here comes the second type. It has so-called "sanblasted" reverse (a.k.a. "frozen" reverse). Usually it can be found inside the cases with silver kanji. One of the late variations of the Golden Kite order from 1938 + period has similar reverse and cases with silver kanji are typical for 1938-1945 period. Unfortuntely I`ve never seen such orders in authentic documented groups. That`s why I don't have full-on certainty that all 7th class rising sun orders without enamel at reverse belong to the post war period.
    10. You are obviosly confused Danny. I simply asked you (actually I had to ask four times during last six months) about the source of info that allowed you to make this statement. Now I know the answer. This is your "IMHO".
    11. Molto fumo e poco arrosto.
    12. Yea, ooops ... The link please. I am familiar with japanese mint website (and its history books) for many years and have never seen such info.

      request for help :-)

Danny, what are you talking about ... What "polishing"?! It`s just patina. And please (I am asking for for the third time) answer this simple question
    14. More like "To wear on the kimono haneri". Haneri (半襟, “half collar”) is a decorative collar sewed on the nagajuban, that you can put the erishin inside it, before wearing kimono.
    15. it's indeed. By the way, this is how your medal looked like while (about three years ago) at Thies auction. ]
    16. The correct ribbon for the medal issued in 1931 looks like this one.
    17. Nice medal Bob. Regarding the ribbon.
