    1. the reason ww1 where More ek's awarded was because the whole character off warfare was changed . lets start at the numbers off soldiers involved fore one . second the value's off how to award the cross changed also as the war cruelty involved demanded it . (a soldier doing its duty at 1914 was a whole different story as it was in 1870) but dont worry ,,in the beginning the judgment off who would get the cross was just as strictly as it was in 1870. and the prestige off the cross never changed those things are documented in period Books off the Iron cross . regards kay
    2. having some trouble with the picture upload here's the back
    3. well I am absolutely beyond finding any core what so ever ugly . but I have one here,,, that wood be seen as ,,let say (crude ) . if ,,,,,your not aware that ,, the classic A type,,, off the 1870 ek ,,,,was born ,,,,out off the retouched sand model,,,, fore this core . so ,,,,the most beautiful,, ( crude ) core ever to me .
    4. well ,maybe one off them got the Bavarian because his Bavarian officer pointed him out .. the other one maybe spotted by a Prussian officer
    5. the quality off craftsmanship and material off a regular awarded IC is equal to what ever the private marked could provide . so,,, fore the private marked the trick is to provide something special . in the line off backplates ,hooks ,mousetraps and so on lets say fore the new upcoming demand from pilots ,tank drivers ,balloonists ,U boot´ists and other new units evolving with the murderess techniques off the war sure connecting the private marked early on , to the official army providers off the Cross ,,,,with who ever could pay fore it . and so, come in handy later on , in the after war memorabilia and collector marked evolving in the shadow off the lost war and a new upcoming marked around 1920-30 . pressing on in to the 1940 and to god knows what year . sure a very nice Godet set here . saw it years back on WAF the first time . had a few and sold ( traded) a few myself to, but they stayed strange to me the razor sharp hooks on them as well as the very often almost mint condition these crosses come in made me always´s wonder . but sure the Godet popularity will always´s make these crosses highly desirable and pricey . not to speak about the case´s fore them . it is always´s almost a difficult to upgrade addition in anyone´s collection fore sure . very nice peace's . regards kay Holland verzamelt.nl - 1870/1813 OBSERVATIONS
    6. so ,, what are you looking fore ? stamped cores ? or moulded core's ? exclusive 1914 ? or some 1850 's cores 1870 core's allowed to ? regards kay , Holland verzamelt.nl - 1870/1813 OBSERVATIONS
    7. I agree with art wall a salute to the honorable gentleman Graf
    8. maybe it wood be an idea to post the pictures off period 1813 Iron crosses who are shown in period books and documents before 1945 . regards kay Holland verzamelt.nl - 1884 to1941 laws & regulations

    10. yes your right I did misunderstood the situation a bit .. but I still think (in case off the dealer is being responsible fore the replacements ) ,,the dealer is responsible fore the damage off his actions . and responsible to take on all costs to set it right ... at best the grouping wood be brought together again ,,,,,and all should be compensated in case off loss in money. I understand your difficult situation ,,,,about the variation and wanting to hold on to it .( beside me being very suspicious towards it ) there are so many variations out there ,,,,,and this one,, is by far not the nicest one . maybe you can get a good deal out off it ,and be rewarded with a even better variation in the end . but if you want to keep it ,,that is ok as well .... you pay'd fore it , in an honest sale ,,,so its yours . what you gone do dos not matter ?,, its in gods hands ,,lets see where it is getting you .. I have a feeling its going to be okay regards kay
    11. there is only one way fore the " well known dealer " hand out the original ek,,, (that was original ) in this grouping,,,, and let you keep the one you have as compensation fore the trouble he'd get you in by his actions . regards kay
    12. well it clears my question a date spelled wrong ? ,,what a tell tell tale ... thanks fore the clarification ,,, Saschaw . regards kay
    13. well I don't understand it at all ,,,Germans cant read what ?
    14. just out off interest ,,and hopefully off some help . silver stamp book 1927 says,,,,,,! 8 carat alloy gold is regarded as 333 in the 1920/ and 30/40 in Germany ,, 333 fore silver did not exist in Germany fore a Turkish silver mark you wood find a 900/1000 mark or ,,, a half moon with a 5 pointed star and a Arabian number. the number 336 wood be equal to 1336 /1920 foundation off the Turkish republic . ALSO USED the Arabic word SAHH before that it was the royal tughra . but that is 1927 .... regards kay Iron cross - Home
    15. yes and no ,,,,,, basically its hard to say fore anyone as the production off oak's went on and on ,,,right in to the late 1930's I stick to a certain type if comes down to 1870/95 ,,,,1900 originality . and a certain type made 1920/30 so dos everybody else everyone here ( and elsewhere ) has one or Moore certain type's they believe in ,,,,,, but no direct and full data to what is fake,,,,,, or what is not . only a big mix up off pictures in Books and opinions off experts and experienced collectors. and sure a lot off observations as fake ek's are combined with original oaks , and the other way around who made it even worse . fore this one ,,most don't like it ( its an ugly one after all ) but it is also seen in Book as original ... that is WY sometimes the prices pay'd are way over general expectations ,,,, and sometimes not ... my advice look to what is commonly excepted as original,,,,, to protect your investment . regards kay Holland verzamelt.nl - 1884 to1941 laws & regulations
    16. Spasm ,,,,,,if you seriously want original you can always ask fore an opinion if you find one on ebay ore somewhere else ,,, I have no problem to help out at least your not buying stuff you getting disappointed in regards kay
    17. i found him in the Book Iron time off stephan previtera page 159 on a 1870 prinzen EK strangely the ones on page 97 and page 195 look also very similar
    18. the sickening propaganda message is ,,,,,,,, she's left with the comfort off the child ,,and a indication that mothers and child are patriotic German hero's ,,,, that is the symbolic use off the cross on the backside ... happy war slaves regards kay regards kay
    19. and I pass on this point,,, back to my hobby ,,,imperial . I leave you WW2 guy's to your ehhh,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,????????????????????????????????????????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thing .
    20. ohh and PS,,,,lets put the disappointment in the present collector ( and Goeroe) knowledge,,,, off all kind behind us ,,, these unknowns and enigma's are also fun to discuss . lets not spoil our fun by bad experiences in the past ... this hobby suppose to be fun,,
    21. well ,,PK . its an interesting thread indeed . but what about the official Orden regulations 1941 ? Holland verzamelt.nl - 1905 to1941 laws & regulations they are a proof,,,,, and a licence to make Orden copy's fore what ever jeweller had the skills fore,,, WY is that being ignored ? Don''t you think we underestimate the period theatre and film Market,,,,,,,,, fore Orden copy's at the time between 1939 /1945 ? Is there a possibility that the market contains the highest Orden equal to the Original ? ( as they had to be by law ) and just took a high flight,,,,, as the post war era had a need fore memorabilia off such kind ? just asking an opinion ?
