    1. Hello! Yes, That´s the car. I´ve seen it several times, but I don´t know if it´s a private purchase or an official one.
    2. Yes. Nice photos and shoulder straps! Congrats. I´m still looking for a collar badge. Do you know anything about the "sportscar" badge? I also have this sad photo
    3. Hi Chris! Try Mr. Johann Schüßelburner from bavarian 12th Inf.Rgt. (never heard such a name before...) http://des.genealogy.net/search/show/4272885
    4. Hi! Blue shoulder straps with yellow numbers are correct, but I miss the red piping:
    5. Hello! Prussian rankings have existed since at least 1713, and from 1785 onwards they were published annually until 1806. After that - as a result of the lost war of 1806 - there were initially no more rankings, but at least in 1808 and 1812 they were compiled in manuscript and more recently published as facsimile prints by the Military History Research Office. Furthermore, a ranking list for 1806 was published in two editions in 1828, supplemented by "News about the subsequent relationship of the officers and military officials listed therein" and a list of names in 1835. Regular annual rankings were published again from 1817 onwards.
    6. Note the fallen Oberst List! He was killed Oct. 31, 1914 near Gheluvelt Commander of bav. RIR16! The photo must have been taken before November 1914. 29.10.14: Battle of the Yser 30.10.-24.11.14: Battle of Ypres Schnitzlein: Rgt. Adjutant 10.9.-31.10.14 (wounded) Bassenheim: Leader 10th co. 10.9.-29.10.14 List: Rgt. Commander 10.9.-31.10.14 (+) Hagen: Leader 12th co. 10.9.-30.10.14 (wounded, + 24.11.14) Peukert: Leader 11th co 10.9.-29.10.14 (+) Bühner: Dr. after Dr. Fischbach Beuschel: Leader 9th co. 10.9.-29.10.14 (+) Herterich: Adjutant III.Btl. 10.9.-31.10.14 (wounded) v. Lüneschloß: Commander III.Btl. 10.9.-31.10.14 (wounded) Piloty: Adjutant I.Btl. 21.9.-29.10.14 (+) Fischbach: Dr. III.Btl. 10.9.-11.11.14 (+) Graf: in 11th co. 29.10.14 (+) The battle of the Yser (29.10.14) was Hitlers first front action. In this battle he fought an attack (led by Piloty), and his right sleeve was hit by a bullet, but he was not injured For his bravery in that attack he promoted to Gefreiter Nov.3, 1914 By the way, that photo was published in the regimental history
    7. No, unfortunately not. In those lists he is listed in his peacetime regiment. The regimental history IR141 could help, but I don´t have it.
    8. Not only as a gift. So he earned a better pension... The ribbon bar shows: EKII, RAO4, DA, Centenary medal, ÖFJ4, DD3 Am I right?
    9. Hello! I don´think so. Promotions: Leutnant 11.2.86 Oberleutnant 14.9.93 Hauptmann 27.1.00 Major 27.1.10 Oberstleutnant 27.1.15 He is not listed in the seniority list from january 1918. So he left the army before that date. Because the ranklist of honour did list him as "a.D." (off duty), I don´t think, he served in 1919
    10. Helo! Hi Glenn! I can add, he promoted to Oberstleutnant April 5, 1884
    11. Hello! Now it´s clear. I didn´t now the other kind of the abbreviation. So he had VR1KD and EKII. Probably beside those both he had commemorative medal 70/71 and saxon commemorative cross 1866. https://www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de/deutsche-staaten/erinnerungskreuz-1866.html The ranklists don´t mention other medals for him. On Christophes photo he wears the old saxon "Reiter" Uniform. So he wears the uniform of 2nd Reiter-Regiment, which became Hus.Rgt.19 in December 17, 1875. Note the name changed in Dec. 1875, but the uniform changed in april 1876! The regimental history mentions: 2nd Lt. in 1st Esk./2.Reiter-Regiment in July 27, 1870 and December 1, 1871. Rittmeister in the same unit December 31, 1877, and in 2nd. Esk December 1, 1881 and April 1, 1882. Medals: Sächs. Verdienstorden, Ritterkreuz with swords in 1871 and EKII in 180/71 He promoted to Sec.Lt. July 19, 1865 Pr.Lt. January 1., 1872 Rittmeister July 23, 1875 On Christophes photo I see (probably) one star (Pr.Lt.) upon the shoulder board, so the photo must have been taken between January 1872 and July 1875.
    12. Hello! Is the SV3X the same as VR1KD (Verdienst-Orden, Ritterkreuz, 1.Kl. mit Kriegsdekoration)?
    13. Great find! Photos are pretty rare!!! Particularly with a well-known mustach underneath...
    14. Hello! Nice collection!!!!! Here I´ve got a photo from my collection:
    15. Hi! Thanks a lot for the added info of the book! Probably it´s hard to get... I only have the pdf vol. 1-4
    16. Hello! Far right I see an oval patch with 4? That fits to Bavaria. RW-Brigade 21 München with RW-Schtz.Rgt.41 and 42 RW-Brigade 23 Würzburg with RW-Inf.Rgt. 45 and 46 RW-Brigade 24 Nürnberg with RW-Inf.Rgt. 47 and 48 I´d say it´s a 46 or 48
    17. Hello! Thun is alright. In that time some words with t were written with th. (Grammar rules before 1900) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deutsche_Rechtschreibung_im_späten_19._Jahrhundert
