    1. Hello Dave! Thank you very much for your work. The soldiers of tghe Kdw.Brig.Ers.Btl,. had the Bataillon-Number on the shoulder boards. But does he wear a 43? By the way. That bataillon was set-up by the XI. army-corps. It belomnged from 1914-1917 to the Ldw.Ers.Inf.Rgt.3 (as III.Btl.), Gouvernment Metz. In march 1917 ist changed into II./Ldw.Inf.Rgt.94
    2. It is from which period? The Reichswehrministerium was found in 1919. It could be easier, if you´d offer his name, mate...
    3. I havemn´t found another staff-officer with that name, but Max. Does someone have his Leutnant-Patent-number? I don´t have any RL between 1905 and 1910
    4. There was an Oberjäger Saatweber too. Born in the same town. Maybe the writer of the cards back has got some names and units cunfused...
    5. I´ve seen it. Nice photo-nice price... The Ehren-Rangliste mentions a Hauptmann Saatweber (Oberstleutnant a.D.) in FAR59. Maybe there is a 59 upon the shoulder boards, but the grenade is missing... I´ve found him in the Verlustliste, Hauptmann Max Saatweber (born in Barmen, near Wuppertal) , heavy wounded, 5th battery FAR59 (oct 13, 1914)
    6. Hi Matt! Nice photo! Can your read the shoulder-board? There is something on it.
    7. Is there a chance to get his name, please?
    8. Interesting documents! I wonder, why he still was called Vizewachtmeister as serving with the minesweepers... The MW-Kompanie 169 (set-up 28.8.1916) first was under command of the 207.Inf.Div., later 16.Inf.Div. The company consists of: s.MW-Zug 87 (later Inf.Rgt.28) m.MW-Zug 803 (later Inf.Rgt.29) l.MW-Zug 937 (later Inf.Rgt.68)
    9. You´re right, mate! Landwehr had the number. The cypher (FR) was introduced march 1888. Before they had the number too. #1: all kinds of uniforms of the IR 125 #2: civilian drivers of that regiment. Some rich officers had civilian drivers. They had the cypher on the collar or on the capband. Sometimes also a monogram of the officer. #3: Ldw.Inf.Rgt. 125
    10. Superb!!!!! Thank you very much for showing!!!!!
    11. Hello bolewts58! Thank you for the confirmation!!!
    12. Hello! This is a so called simplified tunic. No cuffs and no pipings around the shoulder straps. I think it´s also called "Feldrock nach Landsturmschnitt". Introduced in Bavaria late october 1914
    13. Hello! Most of those coloured "Reservistenbilder" are dedicated to individuals. These paintings were made in a quantity of a few hundred, while remaining the head white, Each soldier now put his face upon the empty place, so he´s got his own individual picture. Please have a look here:
    14. Here we go again... But I only can upload the small photos. Another one with 2,5MB is not possible...
    15. Sorry, no photo upload possible. None of the uploaders work
    16. Hello! I think, this photo shows men of the Detachement v. Oven. Indicators: Oakleaf upon the collars and a number in a circle-oak-leaves Is v. Oven right?
    17. Ah, ok,, thanks, Glenn! But I´ve seen, the original book is available for 20€. That´s better than a pdf
    18. Hello Glenn! Thanks for the link! Do you know, if it possible to download that book in one single step?
    19. Hello Bernhard! Very interesting MP! The MW Kp. 221 belonged to the 21.Res.Div. and consisted of : s. MW-Abtl. 19 m. MW-Abt. 113 l. MW-Abt. 255 19 and 255 is mentioned in the MP. The l. MW-Abt. 214 belonged to the 9.Res.Div.
    20. Hi Paul! The tress is the so-called "Bayern-Borte" (Bavarian-braid or bavarian galloon, I don´t know th right english term...) It indicates bavarian units. Introduced in march 1916 it, normally, was used at the Bluse 15
    21. L. was not the "Chef" of the regiment, he was the commander. That´s a difference. Chef means, he "owns" the regiment, but the "leader" was the Kommandeur. But it could be possible, that he wears the regiment´s uniform, of course!
    22. By the way: In that book is your photo of Graf Schlieffen shown. It says, that, on that photo, he wears the uniform of the general staff with epaulettes.
    23. Hello! The generals wore different uniforms. By the way, each general had the unifirm of the generals. A different one was the uniform of the general staff. The also could wear the uniforms of the units, from which they were chiefs or à la suite. The war minister and the chief of the general staff also could wear the uniform of the officers, who were under their command! The chiefs of regiments did change. I don´t have a Rangliste of 1905, but of 1904. In 1904 the chef of the Füs.Rgt.39 was the archeduke of Austria Rainer and Schlieffen was à la suite of the guard-uhlans. The "Verlag Militaria" did publich a very good book only about generals! You can also order it in english in the states: http://www.militaria.at/Book.aspx?book=1596672&Language=de
