    1. One copy here... The statistic figures of the Lippe awards would be quite interesting to have...andcombining it with the names of the Lippe rolls makes everything perfect Best regards Roman
    2. It is not easy, really! I?m wondering, that there is no long-service medal on that ribbon bar. The former owner was from Lippe-Detmold and was an active fighter during the WW1. (Otherwise at least the LC-ribbon should have been the white NC-ribbon). According to these facts, it must be the House-Order 4th class with swords Div. A. And he was surely a younger guy. There are several entries in the rolls, for which it isn?t clear, if these persons really got the award with swords. Best regards Solomon
    3. I would prefer to say "forced by their professions to be a virgin" It would be very interesting to know, if these three men also wear the ribbon in the bow-style like the women did. Best regards Solomon
    4. No, the swords were awarded only for war-merits. Best regards Solomon
    5. The ribbon with swords on it belongs to the Lippe-Detmold house-order, there is no doubt. And, as mentioned, it is placed wrong behind the merit cross. Following the statues of the house-order, it had to be placed before all other Lippe-awards. A identification isn?t easy, because all other awards are standard... Best regards Solomon
    6. Do you mean this nice fellow? I?m still not convienced if the buttonaire belongs to this (destroyed) group. And I didn?t see any evidence that the button and the medalbar were related, although my small nice fellow isn?t IDed yet. Best regards Roman
    7. ...or in my collection Just kidding...really nice fellows, and of course a highlight in everyone?s collection. Best regards Roman
    8. Quite hard to say, you might need some experiences and a good one to compare with...the needle-system is the best way to identify a faked cross, especially when it looks like the shown example. Best regards Roman
    9. Oh noooooo! I?m sorry, but I have to inform you, that exactly this type of the heroic-deeds-cross is a well known fake. You can find these faked crosses often on Ebay, especially one German dealer sells them once a month on Ebay. Sorry for the bad news...but it is definitely not a repaired old one. Best regards Roman
    10. Oooooh I?ve still more than 30 years, before pension (from work)...or I have to change my job and I should become a professional "Gnome" Best regards Roman
    11. Really a nice and quite rare combination...nice purchase. The war merit cross Lippe-Detmold was awarded about 1117 times on a non-combatant ("white") ribbon. For the Schaumburg-cross, I don?t have the figures. Best regards Roman
    12. Hehe, nice thoughts, but there is a small problem: The Lippe-cross with stick-pin and without inscription (often called the 1st class of the war merit cross) was never spent nor awarded. Last month I had a old prototype of this cross in my hands for an article on my website, it was similar to the cross, which is shown in the museum in Detmold. But anyway, it was never spent! Best regards Roman
    13. Oh, you don?t need to clean your monitor...here is a closer look on his medalbar
    14. :speechless1: Aaaaah, and I?m searching exactely this nice 1866-medal from Lippe-Detmold. Although quite many medals were spent, I nevr saw one one mounted a medalbar and I have no idea why??? Okay, to make you also a bit jealous, I will show you a picture, I got a few weeks ago. Please look carefully at the first medal on the medalbar @Rick I already erased the impossible names and combinations from the list, but there still too many (okay, I?m quite sure, that he wasn?t a "Landwirt"). Additionally there is the problem, that this guy may got his red-cross-medal after the Lippe-cross and in this case the receipt shows none other award, which makes this medalbar IDable But I will keep it in mind. Best regards Roman
    15. OMG...what a rare beauty!!!! :speechless1: Congratualtions. Greetings Roman
    16. And you guys always want to look behind the awards, so here is the back of the medalbar.
    17. Hello gents (and friends of nice enameled roses), to reactivate this theme, I would like to introduce to you my latest purchase. Of course, it looks quite unspectacular, but the "Kriegervereinskreuz Lippe-Detmold" is quite a rare bird. Unfortunately this bar is unnamed. The bar looks like an official (teacher...) or a doctor (indeed, I found one Dr.med. in the list). Best regards Roman
    18. Hi Christophe, a cross for heroic deeds Lippe-Detmold is possible, really hard to say. The ribbon-bar might be the key, but I?m unable to identify the ribbons on it. Do you have any information about the Regiment? Does the PLM-person give any hints on that? Best regards Roman
    19. Thank you very much, Rick. Unfortunately there is no date on the painting, which could explain the variations of the orders (painting - Almanach). Best regards Roman
    20. Hello gents, a friend asked me for my help again. He sent me pictures from a painting, he just got from an auction (his wife asked him to place a bid on it ). But who is the painted Husar? On the lower right corner there is the signature "Untermalt von Gr?fin von Geldern-Egmont". He is wearing - order of the crown 2nd class - Johanniter-Order Rechtritter - SEHO Komtur-cross - house-order Lippe 2nd class and on his medalbar: - iron cross 2nd class 1870 with oakleaves - red eagle order 3th class with bow-style ribbon - cross for long service 25 years Prussia - medal for war 1870/71 with four clasps - Century medal - Baden Zaehringer lion - order of the iron crown Austria - foreign order (Bulgaria? Italy?) I thought, it would be easy to ID this Husar, especially because of the Lippe order. And I have a guess, but would like to hear some opinions about this man and your guess. Thank you in advance for your help Best regards Solomon
    21. Rick, you are right...of course it was in 1904. I would like to thank everyone, who contacted me and sent me the pictures I was asking for. Now I have the picture, which might be helpful. Best regards and a Happy New Year Solomon
    22. Hello gents, a student asked me for my help with her dissertation about the crown-dispute of Lippe-Detmold and Schaumburg-Lippe. She is writing about Prof. Dr. jur. Eduard Hubrich, who got the Ofiicer?s honour cross Schaumburg-Lippe on 8th April 1908. Now she is asking for a picture of this (rare) decoration, but I don?t have one. Is here anybody, who can help me/her with a scan of this cross? I?m sure, it is no problem that she quotes the collector?s name in her dissertation, if wished. You may also contact me by mail : webmaster@hausorden.de Thank you in advance for your help! Best regard and a Happy New Year Solomon
    23. Although Kassel 2008 was mainly dissappointing, at least this nice little rare rose found its way into my hands As already mentioned there were only 147 awards of this military merit medal Lippe-Detmold (1st type without swords on the medal), many of them were returned after the death of the owner. If have some medals with swords...but I looked quite a long time for this rare type Greetings Roman
