Hello gents, a friend asked me for my help again. He sent me pictures from a painting, he just got from an auction (his wife asked him to place a bid on it ). But who is the painted Husar? On the lower right corner there is the signature "Untermalt von Gr?fin von Geldern-Egmont". He is wearing - order of the crown 2nd class - Johanniter-Order Rechtritter - SEHO Komtur-cross - house-order Lippe 2nd class and on his medalbar: - iron cross 2nd class 1870 with oakleaves - red eagle order 3th class with bow-style ribbon - cross for long service 25 years Prussia - medal for war 1870/71 with four clasps - Century medal - Baden Zaehringer lion - order of the iron crown Austria - foreign order (Bulgaria? Italy?) I thought, it would be easy to ID this Husar, especially because of the Lippe order. And I have a guess, but would like to hear some opinions about this man and your guess. Thank you in advance for your help Best regards Solomon

Hello gents, a student asked me for my help with her dissertation about the crown-dispute of Lippe-Detmold and Schaumburg-Lippe. She is writing about Prof. Dr. jur. Eduard Hubrich, who got the Ofiicer?s honour cross Schaumburg-Lippe on 8th April 1908. Now she is asking for a picture of this (rare) decoration, but I don?t have one. Is here anybody, who can help me/her with a scan of this cross? I?m sure, it is no problem that she quotes the collector?s name in her dissertation, if wished. You may also contact me by mail : webmaster@hausorden.de Thank you in advance for your help! Best regard and a Happy New Year Solomon

Although Kassel 2008 was mainly dissappointing, at least this nice little rare rose found its way into my hands As already mentioned there were only 147 awards of this military merit medal Lippe-Detmold (1st type without swords on the medal), many of them were returned after the death of the owner. If have some medals with swords...but I looked quite a long time for this rare type Greetings Roman

Hi gents, I just got this nice award document from ebay: Red Eagle Order 3th class with the bow-style ribbon (Roter Adler Orden 3.Klasse mit der Schleife) Otto Budde, member of the managing board of "Fried. Krupp AG", got it on 30. December 1907. He lived in Essen ("an der Ruhr") between 1848 and 1909. But that?s all information I found. Does anybody have more information about him? What else did he award? By the way, this document was originally signed by Wilhelm II., common for this class of the Red Eagle Order. Best regards Roman

:speechless1: Holy sh**! I sold my order for art and science 1st class at the beginning of this year...the big brother of your wonderful mini! And I never saw this mini before...congratulation, a good buying. By the way, the ribbon is the same for the house order Schaumburg-Lippe and Lippe-Detmold. (If you need a picture of my 2nd class with women-style ribbon, you?ll find it here online...). Best regards Roman P.S.: I just found a photo of my 1st class...but definitly SOLD! :banger:

I placed a bid on it and didn?t suceed....2,000 Euro...a bit too much in my opinion. By the way, the seller divided a group A few weeks ago he sold two ribbon-bars and the fitting mini-chain to this beauty. I asked him for a name, but this group was anonymous and it is impossible to ID it with the award-lists Last week I got this nice picture...the man is wearing the Prussian Kriegshilfsdienst-Kreuz, the war honour medal Lippe-Detmold (NC-ribbon) and a Prussian long service medal. The seller offered another (earlier) picture of this man, but the price was as much again By the way...it?s my first picture with this medal...quite hard to find. Best regards Roman

I also saw the splitting of this group.... And I saw the (complete) group on the Thies auction...in my opinion the starting price was too high, otherwise I had placed a bid on it. But now I won?t place a bid on any of these auctions, it might be impossible to keep the belonging parts together. ...another unique group is destroyed.... Roman

Of course, I have the chance...it?s my medalbar (Vizefeldwebel Augst Sch?fer from Detmold) Here are the sizes: diameter (without crown) = 28,8 mm ( 1,134 inch ) height (incl. crown) = 42,95 mm ( 1,691 inch ) height (incl. ribbon-ring) = 52,2 mm ( 2,055 inch ) I hope, this was helpful...
