It is called "Les insignes privés de sociétés d' anciens militaires" and shows a lot of non-official medals. I have no idea if it's ever published in a book. Hope this is helpfiul. kind regards, Jef
    6. Hello Kris, I'm afraid Belgium is a jungle of non-official medals. It's not always easy to find information if you don't have the documents of the medal itself. However André C. Borné wrote something about this medal. kind regards, Jef

Hello, Don't know if you can say this ( attached pic) is a piece of art? I only can say it sounds like a mandolin ( using steel strings). The Brodie was trown away during the Blitz, it was used by a farmer in a horsestable for many many years. When the tractor took the place of the horse, the shell got into the junk.... till I found it. Hope it Jef
    8. I saw this in the book "Onderscheidingen" Bussum 1985, Paul's medal looks like the medal on attached page. The difference is Paul's medal doesn't show the words " voor alzijdige vaardigheid" kind regards, Jef
    9. Dear Maxblue, I'm afraid someone put two wrong centermedallions on the medal. Normally on one side a lion with the motto of Belgium, On the other side: the Leopold II monogram, after all it's a medal in the order of Leopold II . Kind regards, Jef
    10. Well I must say the 2014 edition looks much better. Thank you ,Jens Jef

    17. Gentlemen, Recently I bought this pic on Ebay. Pic was taken in the village where I live. Unfortunately there are no buildings in the area. In this way I cannot situate where it was taken. I was wondering if someone can help me with information about the Germans on the pic who got their EK. Attached is front and Backside. So far I have not researched the Regimentgeschichte Kind regards, Jef
    18. Thank you gentlemen for your advice. I won't try to polish, in fact that was not my intention at all. But the medal looks so fragile, so dry. Would you dissaprove if I treat the medal with a soft synthetic oil? Oil would stop the oxidation procces. What do you think? Jef
    19. Hello Gents, Could someone please give me some advice about this medal: to clean or not clean this Silberne Verdienstmedaille Baden. Kriegsmetal seems to clean very difficult. The scan of the medal looks better than the medal .... kind regards and lot of thanks, Jef

    22. Hello again, Kev Have been looking to the enlarged pic.... and is it possible the good man wears a British and a Belgian Inter Allied War Medal? Don't think it would have sense to wear two Belgian Victory medals. Jef
    23. Hello Kev, Peter named the pic De Jaeger, so I suppose his name is De Jaeger. I believe the small medal is a MBE . The man might have been a Belgian Allied agent, I suppose. I will ask Peter. kind regards, Jef
