Good morning, Eric Always a little more difficult to give an opinion on cloth badges from photographs, but if it passes the black light test I would say the design, two colour cotton mix to the reverse and quality of cloth all match up with known originals. Off to tie down the garden furniture as we're in the midst of a force 8 storm today.

If you?re looking for mint tabs, look no further. A set of tabs for ?Justizwachtmeister? grade. I?ve blocked out the dealers name but I?m sure the cloth and uniform guys will know where to find them. What is the story behind these sets of mint cloth by the maker Thiele & Steinert A.G Berlin? I?ve heard that a hoard was found in the company stores?True?

Finding an original by this maker is becoming increasingly more difficult. I?ve been asked on many occasions to authenticate badges that are supposedly by ?Osang? and nine times out of ten they turn out to be fake? so I thought a look at what I consider to be a classic Fallschirmsch?tzenabzeichen by ?G.H Osang ? Dresden? would be helpful. To this end? Made of zinc with plated wreath... the obverse.

An accepted version of an EM title for ?JG M?lders? in very nice condition. In 2004 Werner M?lders was berated in the media for his participation in the Spanish Civil War. In 2005, Peter Struck, the former Secretary of Defence for the Social Democratic Party, ordered that the honour name of Jagdgeschwader 74 "M?lders" be removed from the post-war squadron of F-4F Phantom II?s, thus ending the long association with the Luftwaffe Ace. Then. Now.

Heer Fakes PAB`s
J Temple-West replied to Jan Arne S's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Hi Jock The best way to get to know the differences between original and fake is to study the characteristics of known originals and do side-by-side comparisons with pieces you?re considering going after. Further to your PM regarding the ?Aurich? PAB found on a certain UKdealer site (a fake that matches the one posted in the fake PAB section) I?ve done a comparison of the reverse of an original (left) and the fake (right) in the hope that the differences will be clear. ?Aurich? used a unique hinge system that the fakers were unable to match. The catch, although close, is of the type used on modern fakes, being set proud of the body of the badge instead of being slightly recessed in the case of the original. The metal used is wrong, as is the bronze wash. I?ll leave you to do some comparisons of the obverse of these badges so that you get the hang of picking out the differences. -
Luftwaffe Deumer and B&NL
J Temple-West replied to Harrier's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Hi H My first thoughts would be? fake, or an original that?s been post war marked? It?s certainly not a combination that rings true. If you can get them...photos will tell the story. -
Luftwaffe Honor Goblet

Hi Kevin Sorry, missed this thread! Looks like you'll be getting a very nice example of an officer's Honour Goblet. congratulations! -
Going on this particular nickel plated zinc, ?C E Juncker Berlin SW68? badge I would say that the ?68? mm was in operation before the bombing of the Juncker factory, which I believe was during December ?44. To have been able to acquire the raw materials for new dies, have them cut, the tooling set up for production and a production run (to include finishing, assembly and delivery) to take place, let alone the issuance of these badges to newly qualified personnel, after the bombing, would have been nigh-on impossible.

As you say, Mark...not many about, so are these post-war marked "BSW" badges? A collaboration between the two firms? An example of this badge appears in Delev's last price guide, and I may be wrong... but didn't Francois once handle one that came from a pilot's group? As far as the translation is concerned: I German Leg. Could that be 'I German (pulling your) leg? @ Chris, as with J(I)MME, the "I" and "J" are interchangeable.
