Not having thought much about fake lanyards, and looking at the examples in my collection, I would have to say that you?re probably right to have concerns about this one. I?ve never seen the alu thread turn to this golden colour. At first I thought it to be a grade 9 lanyard with a replaced shield, but the discolouration looks to be only on the knots. Certainly a strange one! Any chance of a pic of the entire lanyard?

You are right, Rick...Very sarce! Here's an early example by "Juncker" (C.B collection) that is, IMO, the only one to go for to be certain of obtaining an original.

Interesting to note that the fakers have stamped the Luftwaffe acceptance code ?5? into the pin in an attempt to make the badge a little more believable.

Nan Su, To find one of these civil pilot?s badges is hard enough, to find one in this condition is very rare as the enamel is usually cracked or missing. Congratulations on finding this superb addition to your collection.
