    1. Sorry for the crumpled state it was in a bag in my brothers attic in Ireland for the last 7 years. Kevin in Deva.
    2. Size at leading edge:- 23.5cm Length to tip:- 41 cm. Multi-piece construction of Swastika & Jungvolk insignia. Kevin in Deva.
    3. More to the point why buy what could be a damaged or repaired example when with a little patient a good example will surly turn up, as noted above the Galipoli Star even by BB&C are not rare. Kevin in Deva.
    4. Page 55. You have to be kidding me And no mention about the ribbon being from Belgium, or the fact that the dates were on the front where the light rust now resides and never on the rear Kevin in Deva
    5. Hallo Josef, while I am familiar with the "BB&C" stamping on the pin plate, have you any thoughts with regards the cracked rear of the item, looking at the damage I am (a) surprised it ever made it passed quality control, and (b) even more surprised it has no damage to the front enamel, if damaged in wear. Kevin in Deva.
    6. Can you please post a picture with the pin open? Appears to be a painted brass back. Kevin in Deva.
    7. Gents, to those of you who have loved ones recovering from illness or undergoing treatment, my best wishes for a speedy recovery, sorry for the lack of posts, as some know I had a wisdom tooth out, followed by two weeks of pain killing injections, immediately after which I caught a severe chest cold, the bright side is I had two brothers make a surprise visit one driving from Ireland to London to collect my twin brother before continuing on to my home in Romania via, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germ...

Hallo Gents, first the little dog is weighing in around 33 kilo now, asleep at my feet as I type.
Finally over the wisdom tooth removal effects medical gauze? no it was bit down on this cotton? bandage, spit it out in about 10 mins that was it. seems the blows to the jaw upset a nerve hence the injections I had to get from the wife.

To top all that I had to have an ultra sound on my left knee as it was swollen, just checking to see if there was a thrombosis, glad to report the swelling is caused by fluid to the rear of the knee, was doing a lot of kneeling while cleaning up a 6 man grave plot for All Souls night. I will be getting a course of physio on Monday when I report back to the specialist.

And my brothers bought a heap of my militaria items that had been in storage for the last 7 years in my brothers attic in Ireland, uniforms, insignia, helmets, etc..etc.. so I will have something to post over the next couple of months.

    8. Nice items, thanks for taking the time to share them. My wife is a Romanian Nurse and in 2008 I took her to visit the small Florence Nightingale Museum in London, which she found very interesting. Kevin in Deva.
    9. Can you please tell those of us who are not familiar what the IKOM and ZIN stand for? Kevin in Deva.
    10. This Romanian bar in Noor's picture in my opinion is a late war piece and probably was influenced by the German style of bars which would have been seen by Romanians alongside German units. For those interested Noors Romanian bar shows ribbons for:- a, Serviciul Credincios Medal / (Credible Service.) b, King Carol I Centenary Medal. c, Crusade Against Communism 1941. Kevin in Deva.
    11. Oppps, sorry Greg, must cut back on the pain-killers didnt even realize I typed Jeff instead of Greg Kevin in Deva.
    12. Hi Jeff Greg, nice looking item. whats the text read as its hard to make out in the shadow. The screw on the rears appears to have been very roughly finished / cut down as you can see the saw teeth serrations and where it was broken off. Kevin in Deva.
    13. On the Butchers block at 11:30 hours 30th September for an inflamed wisdom tooth removal, inflamation was caused when all the wisdom leaked ;-)

    14. Its very interesting to see a Romanian Royal Order on there. Kevin in Deva. :jumping:
    15. I agree with Don about the lengths of ribbon, looks real sloppy and not quite what you would expect to see if put together by a military tailor for example. Kevin in Deva.

I believe the bar was to a W.W.2 Romanian enlisted man who then progressed through the ranks to an officer position. Opinions welcome. Kevin in Deva.
