    5. Hallo Chris, from what I know, military survivors of the retreat through Albania were awarded this medal and a small pension for life for their suffering. They were also issued with a pension entitlement book as well as the medal, In good condition with original ribbon can be classed as scarce, In good condition with ribbon and book can be classed as RARE, always seem to sell for in and over 100 Euros I am searching for more info, so watch this space ( - As it turns up on French Ebay now and again I believe French troops received it, but I am not sure if they qualified for a pension - ) Old Pictures from my computer reference files of medals sold on the Internet. 6. Hallo Bishop Interesting questions, I believe that nobody has managed to capture the original powdery "Satin" black paint job of the originals. Some of the brass -core and zinker paint jobs might react with time a little differently to the Iron core paint-jobs. And its down to the purchasers own taste, as to having a re-spray / re-brush to make the item look ok, or the " collecting-fanatic" who will only buy it as it was issued. As opposed to the chap who will take what his pocket can afford. Kevin in Deva

    19. Hallo Eduardo, having had a look online I can say this is not "Bertha", so its possibly a French item, I still think it was originaly mounted on a railway, if you look at the cropped photo, and imagine it with steel railway wheels where I altered the picture with photo-shop, looking at the amount of weeds and debris around this, it has been in the postion for a while. Kevin.
