    1. Hallo Gents, just obtained this from Jacky in Holland, a nice salty piece. A Silver cross of the Bulgarian Order of St. Alexander. Can somebody give me some info on award criteria please, There appears to be a stamp / mark on the silver piece under the ball ribbon ring hanger (appears as a dark round spot in the picture). Kevin in Deva.
    2. The rear of mine, there appears to be an "O" on the rear of the Verdun clasp, bottom left. Kevin in Deva.

    4. Gordon you can narrow your search down to the left bank and the right bank of the Danube, probably at that time it (the Foundry) would have been on the outskirts of the city, so as the clang of hammer on iron would not spoil the sleep of the natives. Kevin.
    5. A case of . . . . "More than my spurs go Jingle, Jangle, Jingle". . . Kev in Deva
    6. Hallo Gents, maybe one of our Belgian or French members could shed some light on what this medal was issued for: I presume a veterans association connection?. Size 30mm in silver gilt. The front: To the rear is: LA FRATERNELLE DES ANCIENS COMBATTANTS LIBERAUX DE SCHAERBEEK ASON PRESIDENT 29-1-38. Who was Maurice Soupart ? a Ww1 veteran?? Kevin in Deva
    7. IF you do the above method, before sealing it with oil, remember to dry the Cross thorughly with a hair dryer, as any water / moisture inside the silver rim will rust the Iron core unnoticed Kevin in Deva

    10. If it is PRUSSIA & AUSTRO-UNGARIA, I am surprised they did not manage to work in the Prussian eagle into the design. But I believe it comes under the heading of Patriotika Kevin in Deva

    15. Hallo Paul would that not have affected the black core of the Iron Cross?? I will post another shot from the same book, which appears to show him* wearing a cut out version of the wound badge as well, dated 9 November 1923, (as soon as the battery charge up on my digi-cam ) * To my eyes and yes I wear glasses Kevin.
    16. Hallo Gents, I was browsing through a 1977 publication, a german magazine called ADOLF HITLER Das III Reich, and on page 113 it shows a colour picture* (attached version is cropped) of adolf on a stage / rostrum in Dortmund 1933 to his left is Josef Wagner (cropped out), William Scheppmann, Hitler, & Victor Lutze. What I notices is the picture seems to show adolf sporting a Silver Wound badge, and above this slightly to the left and higher than the EK I a Gau Badge? * the pictures are originaly from: "Out of the 1933 Cigerattee Album Series, "Deutschland erwacht". Please post any comments please. Kevin in Deva.

    18. Hallo Gents, Well I could be wrong, (has happened in the past and bound to happen in the future ) but I find the way the ribbons look from the rear to be very perculiar, I would expect them all to line up, which numbers 3, 5, 6. 7. dont with 1, 2, and 4, Home made - quick fix for the seller market?? 20. Hallo Tiger-pie, Great but dark pictures, I took the liberty of high-lighting them for more detail With regards this plane Me.109 tail number 163824, has the propellor boss / spinner had a spiral added in white paint? And the black Crosses on the fusalage appear to have been re-defined in white by brush painting, and not the usual spray stencil. Is possible to know if this is a field paint job by Jerry or after capture? Kevin in Deva
    21. Gordon I thought the U shaped was i.d. early on in the post?? "IMHO the beadge with the U is a donation badge for the Austrian Unterseeboote (submarines). but i will try to look it up as well. regards haynau" The U is definatly linked with the U-boats because of a larger insignia issued by the Austrian military, I will see if I can locate it among my computer reference files. Kevin in Deva
    22. The one on the extreme left , middle-bottom and extreme right are unofficial Austrian "tinnies" which reflect military themes, regiments, occasions etc..... the Austro-Hungarian military were extremely tollarant of these unofficial devices which were sold to raise money for the war effort, and there are many differeant types. The Gilt one is probaly along the same lines as it sports the coat of arms of Prussia or Austria, and Turkey as well as the Hungarian coat of arms. Kevin in Deva
