I'm new in this forum, my name is Maxime CHAFFOTTE, I'm 37 old and I'm living at Marseille in the south of France. My interest is for collecting the prussian Uhlans headgears from 1862 (I hoppe 1842, one day) to 1918. I've got a little collection that I'm happy to share with you today:

Being an ex Infantryman (2eme R.E.I.) I collect all German WW1 EXCEPT Mounted units ;-)

But it really is very very nice to see such a collection.

Must have taken a lot of patience to put it together....

I remember a fight in a bar in marseille, a legionnaire did the traditional thing if squeezing the red pom-pom on a French sailors hat......

I wonder if Infantry in 1914 tried to balance things on the Uhlanans flat tops ;-)

Do you only do headgear or documents as well?

Thanks Chris. Yes it's something like patince and it never ends up. I also collect some documents and especially a few old post cards or pictures showing prussian Uhlans... it could be the thema of others topics soon.
