Solomon
Okay, here is a more difficult one...it?s not a real case, it?s like an envelope.Guess what lives inside GreetingsSolomon Edited January 1, 2007 by Solomon
Stogieman
OK, no-one can handle the "clue" in post #50.... heh, heh, heh....Here's clue #2:
Solomon
...and there?s nobody, who knows what?s inside #57 It?s the war merit cross Lippe-Detmold It might have been too difficult, because these "cases" where only used for the very early crosses (1914 - Oct. 1915).Later the crosses lay in paper bags with "F?rstlich Lippisches Kriegsverdienstkreuz" on it.GreetingsSolomon
Stogieman
I think the envelope is after-market... The Lippe KVK was issued in a paper, titled packet.

Yankee
Both you Gentlemen had the right Duchy and as you correctly thought issued before the 20th century . The case is mid 19th for a Zahringen Lion Knight. The interior is a deep purple.
Yankee
Who could possibly live inside.
Schießplatzmeister
Hello Yankee:I hope that all is well. I think that I have an unfair advantage as I know that you have what I think resides inside this case:1) Kingdom of Hannover (or exile period)?2) Ernst August Order?3) Knight 1st Class?Like I said, if I have this right, I had an unfair advantage!Best regards,"SPM"
medalnet
Just a guess on from my side Ernst August Knight 2nd, no hold on 1st class?!
Yankee
And I thought this would have been one tough cookie to crack.Hi SPMYou are correct it is the case for the Ernst August knight. Actually it is for the exile type made by Rothe 1866-78 solid crowns. Inside is built for the trifold ribbon. It could be for either class ( no distinction on outer lid )however what sleeps inside is a knight ll class.Hi AndreasYou aced it. How'd you do that.....
