Gerd Becker Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Time is passing, then the pilot is taking "promotion" so does the emblem (my theory and I can be wrong)Fran?ois, that seems to be a Heinkel HE 45 Reconnaissance and Trainer plane and one could interprete the emblem: Mickey says: "Be quiet!"Makes sense? Gerd
Gerd Becker Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 ...but then again... how can you be quiet in a plane with a roaring 750 horse power engine?
François SAEZ Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 Thanks Gerd but this is the emblem of 3. J/88 "Mickymaus" Staffel on one of the unit'sH51s.It was later found on Galland's aircraft
François SAEZ Posted April 1, 2007 Author Posted April 1, 2007 Attached is a detail of the witch personal marking on the tail of Heinkel He 111B-1,25-9 "Pedro 9" of 1./K88
François SAEZ Posted April 28, 2007 Author Posted April 28, 2007 This one is a personal emblem and is attached to a "sad" story."It belongs to 1./K88, aircraft 25-15 (He 111, know as "Pedro 15"), flown by Lt Fuhrhop. His (and his crew) mascot was a black Scotch terrier, who was not as so lucky as the crew, as he was killed over Sagunto on 13 June 1938."I, then, assume that this pic was taken prior to 13 June 1938
François SAEZ Posted May 28, 2007 Author Posted May 28, 2007 Again, the witch personal marking on the tail of Heinkel He 111B-1,25-9 "Pedro 9" of 1./K88On the back is, also from 1./K88, aircraft 25-15 (He 111, know as "Pedro 15"), flown by Lt Fuhrhop. His (and his crew) mascot was a black Scotch terrier
François SAEZ Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 again from 1./K88, aircraft 25-15 (He 111, know as "Pedro 15"), flown by Lt Fuhrhop. His (and his crew) mascot was a black Scotch terrier

Paul R Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I had no idea that the Germans adorned their aircraft with such graphics. Was this the case throughout the war?
