Eric Gaumann
Here's an interesting image I found on ebay. Looks like it's the central portion of a 3rd Class, T1 Order.
new world
That central portion is what's left of the award after it was recycled for sterling silver metal.
paja
Those are basically three-pieces orders, there's the base (star), round piece (wreath), and central part (torches, shield and swords). The central parts are probably made out of tombac, base is silver (until 1981) but how about the wreath? I've seen five torches orders with hallmarks on back sides of both the base and the wreath. Speaking of hallmarks I have one pre-1963 silver piece without them. Edited May 13, 2017 by paja
BalkanCollector
Just wanted to contribute by posting some photos of couple of pieces from my collection. Gold and silver swords with boxes.
paja
Photos of the third class I mentioned before, five torches pre-1963 type, box with post-1961 name of the order, silver without hallmarks.
paja
One more I used to have in collection, pre-1963 type awarded in 1966 bought from the grandson of the recipient. IKOM, rooster in hexagon and 800 hallmarks.
paja
One more pre-1963 type made out of .900 silver. IKOM, rooster in pentagram and 900 hallmarks.
Eric Gaumann
A couple of images I made today of an older member of my collection. Not the best but I feel better about my camera work today. The entire third page of this post is very interesting concerning our 'shinny' thread I think. Lots of speculation from 8 years ago. The more things change the more they stay the same. Edited November 21, 2017 by Eric Gaumann speculation

Eric Gaumann
Boy, this image came out great! Gives one an idea how massive these are, no?
paja
I was posting photos of various 3rd classes with different hallmarks before, here's a new example. This one has "double hallmarks", its wreath is also hallmarked.
paja
White label with the name of the recipient (army officer) is glued to the box (I photoshopped it).
BalkanCollector
I've never seen one with hallmarked wreath. I've finally taken better photos of my examples. 5 torches, 3rd class awarded in 1967 to a technical Lieutenant. IKOM, rooster in pentagram and 900 silver hallmarks. BalkanCollector
5 torches, 2nd class awarded in 1971 to an infantry Major. IKOM, rooster in hexagon and 900 silver hallmarks. This puzzles me since rooster in hexagon is a hallmark for 800 silver.
BalkanCollector
The last one from my collection... 6 torches, 2nd class awarded in 1979 to a technical Major. IKOM, rooster in pentagram and 900 silver hallmarks.
