airborne steve Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Paul,Seems like the tabs are a dark waffenfarbe? Pioneer, medical? What is your guess? great photo.Steve
Paul R Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 Paul,Seems like the tabs are a dark waffenfarbe? Pioneer, medical? What is your guess? great photo.SteveThanks Steve,I noticed the dark tabs too. That is what got me to zooming in on the photo. The funny thing is that the eagles on the helmets are not really visible while looking at the photo in hand. I really love these scanners! It specifically states in the "books" that medical units did not draw members for a band. I think that the waffenfarbe is black. Perhaps an early RLM unit?
airborne steve Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Paul,Ooops! I meant RLM. My bad. I didn't know that LW medical corps didn't have band members? Steve
nesredep Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 HiVery interesting information. RegardsNesredep
Paul R Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 That is why I love this stuff!! There is always something interesting and new to learn!
Scott Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Great picture & blow-ups. Remember, often times old B/W film played funny tricks with colors. What looks dark on the tabs may actually be a lighter color (yellow was notorious for turning up almost black in old B/W film).Scott
Paul R Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Thanks Scott...Can you make out anything on the photo?I can get MusikMeister Hans LimoroJan04, 1938Can you make out the rest?
Scott Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 Your eyes are better than mine there. Can you make out what badge he's wearing or his ribbons? Scott
Paul R Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 The badge looks to be a Rider's Badge. I cannot make out the ribbon bar though. It looks like a double LS with something in front of it? Perhaps a 1936 Olympic Service Medal?

gary9 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Garth Thomson WOW what an absolute joy it is to see all those music tabs, just wonderful. Here are a couple sets of mine.PaulR I just love that tunic.
gary9 Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 An unusual blue set, I dont think there are regs for these, but if you look closely they seem to be by the same maker as the previous pair
Paul R Posted December 3, 2007 Author Posted December 3, 2007 Hi Gary,Thank you for posting these pieces from you collection! Can you please post the reverse of the tabs?Paul
Paul R Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Thank you for the compliment on the uniform earlier. I feel that that collecting gods were definitely with me. I am surprised that Peter had it on his site for as long as it was!! Perhaps it was because it was a private made piece(as they were all supposed to be), versus a 100% standard LW pattern? There could not be more than a few dozen of these men. I bet they all knew one another(at least by name). I am still very perplexed by the blue ones. I am sure that they are pretty irreplaceable!! Your LW collection is amazing.
Paul R Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Here is a single to compliment Dave's Signals MusikMeister. This is for a Flight Obermusikmeister, 1935-8.

Paul R Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 A really nice shoulder board for a Stabsmusikmeister for the 4th Flak regiment. Something this specific MIGHT be able to be ID'ed?
HMVSCF Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 Hello, everyone, a fine topic! Can anyone recognize this conductor?Photo was published in "Handbuch f?r die Singleiter der Wehrmacht" (Verlag Merseburger & Co., Leipzig) and the only caption written was"Ein Musikkorps der Luftwaffe". Photo reminds me of a very similar oneshowing the band of Regiment "General G?ring" with StabsmusikmeisterPaul Haase, also taken in front of some barracks...(photo was posted in my forum by member 'nothingspecial')
leigh kitchen Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Wehrpas to Stabsfeldwebel Wolf Ohlendorf, Wachbataillon der Luftwaffe Berlin (ex- Musikleiter).
Paul R Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 Wehrpas to Stabsfeldwebel Wolf Ohlendorf, Wachbataillon der Luftwaffe Berlin (ex- Musikleiter). That is some really great stuff!!! A nice photo of the rank of Stabsfeldwebel in the Soldbuch as well! I am very envious! I wonder if he served as a Musikleiter with all of those units or if he went on to serve as a combattant, as the war progressed.I do not recognize that conductor. Do you have a name for him? Welcome to the GMIC, HMVSCF!
