Stogieman Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 A very special Wilhelm Ernst Kreuz courtesy of Joe Campbell. photos were massive, sorry I had to skinny them up, they don't do it justice!!
Stogieman Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 And the reverse has some enamel as well!
Stogieman Posted August 20, 2005 Author Posted August 20, 2005 and in the best of the Imperial "tradition", the case!!

joe campbell Posted August 20, 2005 Posted August 20, 2005 stogieman-many thanks for you very fine efforts! the pixlook great..i am working on finding each of the states'iron cross equivalents. getting this one - thewilhelm ernst cross - was a bit of a find!thanks, joe
Stogieman Posted August 21, 2005 Author Posted August 21, 2005 Hi Joe, that is one of the sweetest examples I have seen in a very long time, of a very hard to find award. I would have liked to post the big pix, but I think there would have been much wailing and gnashing of teeth waiting for the pix to appear!A great cross and an excellent approach to a collection. Just try and get a really good example of all the EK2/EK1 equivalents...... not such an easy task! My compliments!
joe campbell Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 (edited) many thanks, rick!in first class, i also have the meck-schwerin, the oldenburg, the anhalt, and the braunschweiger. next stop = hesse.my "dreamer" piece is enamel reuss (Kriegsverdienstkreuz,1915).any chance anyone has one to post?any chance anyone has one to sell or trade???????thanks!joep.s. who is the evil twin??? Edited August 21, 2005 by joe campbell
Bob Hunter Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 Be very careful with these guys, Joe. Think about it. If you were the evil one wouldn't you say the other twin was the "one?" Things are never as they seem what with parallel universes, inverted realities and fake medals. It's almost too much for a fella to keep up to date on what's happening...
Gerd Becker Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 What noone seems to understand is, they are both evil
Gerd Becker Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 What noone seems to understand is, they are both evil ←but both good too
HeikoGrusdat Posted August 21, 2005 Posted August 21, 2005 We can all hope that there will not appear a third twin on the scene sometime... hhhmmmmmmm..... but if he ownes the missing rank lists of the other two evil ones - he will be very welcome Heiko(not too evil at all...)
Bob Hunter Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 ..."a third twin"...what a concept! It could only happen in Massachusetts.
joe campbell Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 the important question on this "geneology"is whether you are twins from the same mother....my obstetrics stats:2035 babies90 sets of twins16 sets of triplets1 set of quadsthree babies this weekend...joep.s if one is evil and one is good, does that mean the third is what??? mediocre???
