Bryan Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Anyway, can we be sure that these are really his orders? People say his HSUs are in a vault somewhere in Moscow.
Ed_Haynes Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 (edited) This particular museum is pretty good in displaying the real things, and what I had heard was that his Victories were not on display because they were locked away but that all else was The Real Thing.See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9297But why, oh why, did they have to put HIS awards in such a grimy and hard-to-photograph case??? slava1stclass Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 But why, oh why, did they have to put HIS awards in such a grimy and hard-to-photograph case???To all: Ed raises a great point. The displays I've seen in former Soviet war museums have generally been outstanding - Kyiv's war museum is particularly well done. The issue cutting across all of them, however, is the absence of adequate lighting/illumination in the individual display cases which leaves one straining to see details.Regards,slava1stclass

Guest Rick Research Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 I've added them in next to each entry. Most have the serial number, if there was one. Oddly enough, the Mongolian 1939 Khalkin Gol badge is NOT listed.
Ed_Haynes Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Thanks, Rick. I think it is a shame that the Red Bible didn't include the correct (Russian) names of all the awards. Ditto for Battushig in his book (Mongolian names).
Ferdinand Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 Thanks for your additions Rick. The list probably only contains orders and medals, and no badges, of which Zhukov also probably received several.Auke
