Wow. That is an outstanding group of photographs, awards and documents and represents a piece of history in a way that no anonymous medal can ever hope to do.

The fact that it belonged to your ancestor makes it even more special.

Judging by the images, he looked as though he had a sense of humour and enjoyed life, despite the circumstances in which he found himself.

Please can you show us some closer shots of his Pilots badge. It would be great to see close shots of an attributed badge, both obverse and reverse.

Hi Mike,

the last picture was taken by the old owner of the collection. When he offered me the collection so that I bought, I was informed for him that pilot's badge was not it of Carl Holler. The badge is with other collector Otto

Otto, that's a real shame that you don't have his original badge. It would have been the icing on the cake ... but having said that at least you have the award document for it. it's really great that you've been able to obtain a large amount of the history and documents relating to Karl's service.
