    Dear Auke,

congratulations to your victory  .

My own Google-search didn't find any track at all :( .

BTW: Do you use cyrillc or latin letters with your Google-search  ?

    Best regards

    Christian

    Hi Christian,

I can guess cyrillic letters have been used by Auke...

    Cheers.

    Yes, I used cyrillic letters.

I don't have much time so this will be an easy question I think.

On 22 June 1941 there was one female Deputy Chairman of the Council of People's Commissar's of the USSR. What was her name?

    Good luck.

    Hello,

boring weekend. I am waiting to go to work. Perhaps it has to do with the change of the climate. Every thing goes so slow.

There ia no action anywhere. Not even here :violent::violent:

I will go downtown and get drunk.

I am not one to comment as we did wait 2 weeks for me to come back from Russia to start the 2008 quiz. However, there was talk of taking a holiday recess so that was kinda different

    But....

... Should there perhaps be a new rule that following 'x' days (max) the question will pass on to (say) the member previously asking the question. Or are we ok with waiting? Christophe.... your game.... your rules. Your decision.

Its fine by me either way but we may have saved Frank a few bucks and some brain cells from keeping with us instead of letting him hit the downtown watering holes ;):cheeky:

    Hi Jim and others,

I agree, good points. The Quiz is far too much quiet here... :Cat-Scratch:

And we can't indefinitelky wait for a Member to ask for a question : he may be away, ot without internet access, or without so much inetrest for the Quiz...

So I propose a new rule to be added :

If after three (3) days, the last winner has not asked yet for a question, and has not transferred his"right" to another Member; everyone else is authorized to do so and ask for the next challenge.

This should make the quiz more dynamic and avoid long period without question...

What do you think ? Are you Ok with this new rule ?

If yes, the ball is yours !!! :jumping: Who will ask for Question #175 ? :jumping::jumping:

    Cheers.

I agree, the speed of the quiz should increase. After three days without an explanation of the winner, whoever has a good question is allowed to post it.

    Dear Christophe,

excellent idea to bring some "speed" to your quiz  .

    Let's wait for Auke's question :D .

    Okay, let's just ask one.

We'll stay with the Soviet government at the start of the GPW. At that time there were 43 People's Commissariats. Name, let's say, seven of them, including their People's Commissar.

    Good luck!

At least the ball is rolling again.

However 'everyone' is just a bit too socialist for my likings as it does not define clearly who should take over. The supreme soviet would not have approved :cheeky: But let see how it goes. After all this is the Soviet and Eastern Block Quiz!

Jim, Let's be socialist somehow...

The point is that the Member who asked for the last question might be unavailable... So, I think it is better for any of us to ask a question, if any of us has one. And I know some of us have some ready...

In all cases, I'll be there to arbitrate if needed.

    Cheers.
